This is what one should expect when a program recruits athletes, rather than "student athletes" .  As long as schools elect to continue to traverse this path, more of these situations will be presenting themselves.

Last year Memphis's median six-year graduation rate for its basketball players was 18.9%, the lowest among the 64 teams competing in the tournament.

This story should not be surprising to anyone.  The interest at Memphis is winning basketball games, rather than educating "student athletes".

And that 18.9% ifs for the whole school. Not the BB-team. Try and find more to hate on Memphis. UNLV was at 23%. So whats your point?

Oh look, another Cardinal hating on the Tigers.  Find out where your team is WATCHING the final four on TV and hook with them to watch the Tigers PLAY.

LouCards........it's funny that you bring up Tyreke Evans!!! At one point, he had your Cards at the top of his list. Then, he realized what a mistake it would be to go to Louisville. So he dropped you faster than North Carolina dropped the Cards last week.....BAM!!!! What would you be saying if he went to Louisville???? Your very bitter that ANOTHER player is going to come to Memphis and NOT Louisville. One last question for you......you spend so much time talking about the Tigers and you Avatar is Washington from Memphis.....are you really a Memphis fan??? If not, it's time you get a life and focus on your team........oh wait, they are not playing any more!!!!!

Meh, big deal.

What is the hatred?  People seem to hate the fact that this team, by far the most athletic in the tourney, actually made it to the Final Four.... Perhaps the fear is that this little C-USA conference team will perhaps destroy and embarrass a UCLA team, just as they did to Texas.  I smell fear in the air....
