Why do you put so much emphesis on conference?
hypethetical question for you. A 6'7" 210 lb. SF from Central Arkansas with a good shooting touch, that can also play PG. Good defense and transition.
Since he comes from a small conference, would you pass on him?

Competition is my point, because you get more of it in the NBA.And if you dont experience much of it in college.............it's a long road in the pros.

Guys, Spew obviously has no clue, so let's stop talking to him about this. He can agree or disagree with whatever he wants, but we all know he's dumb.
Why do we know this?
Because he says you have to play one more year if you're a freshman.....I'm sure Kevin Durant is doing fine, and likewise for Carmelo Anthony.
If I were the Bulls, I would want Derrick Rose. He's a good point guard that's big enough to guard NBA guards and would allow us to move Kirk Hinrich to the bench to backup Rose Larry Hughes. No more Ben Gordon, and no more defensive liabilities.
Michael Beasley is good, I won't argue that, but I get this feeling that he is a Glenn Robinson clone everytime I look at him. I can't shake it. I think Rose is a safer pick, and we can let Drew Gooden play the PF for another year if Tyrus Thomas isn't ready yet.

Now your being ridiculous of course there are exceptions, like Durant , LeBron James, Kevin Garnett , but honestly what are the odds. If it was high most players wouldn't need college! Your right this is a done topic for me If you cant make any sense of what I saying then you should look in the mirror before you call someone dumb...
When Hansbrough gets drafted top 3 I'll be looking for some of you to say I told you so..

Spew,
Even if Hansbrough goes third it still proves nothing, other than the fact that whoever picked third is dirt dumb. Where's Elgin Baylor? You talk about the great competition in the ACC, but so frickin' what. Christian Laettner dominated that league and was the best player in the country for two years. Yet he was a steaming pile of monkey crap in the league. College means NOTHING. Do your homework. Tyler Hansbrough will be lucky to hang around the league for ten years as a bench player. I'm sorry, but wasting a top 3 pick on a bench player is just dumb. Oh wait, didn't Pax already do that with Tyrus Thomas. He better not do it again if given the chance.

Sorry if I'm beating a dead horse here, but this Hansbrough stuff just needs to stop. I can't take it anymore. I'm even shunning the Final Four this year because of it. Hell, Jay Bilas compared him to Michael Jordan during the Elite 8. I've just had enough. Someone wake me when the NBA lottery is on.

Yo Spew,
Check your stats befor you doubt mine. Danny Ferry averaged 22.6 points and 7.4 rebounds per game as a senior. 19.8 and 7.6 as a junior. I'd say that is in the neighborhood of Hansbrough, and Ferry was also way better in assists (4.7 to 0.9 per game) and was a way better three point shooter, Hansbrough didn't even attempt one this year, Ferry shot 42.5% from that range as a senior. Sean May averaged 17.5 and 10.7 as a junior when he left early, again I'd say it was in the neighborhood. You are confusing college success with NBA talent, they are not the same thing. Hansbrough may go top 10, may, but no way top three, he is an average NBA player with nothing really special about his game, and he is undersized to play PF, and too slow to play SF. If NBA GMs drafted on stats alone, Hansbrough might go 2nd or 3rd, but they don't do it that way becuase it has cost to many other past GMs their jobs.
See I'm just talking about the draft and the best players in college right now. I'm not talking 5-10 years down the line. Most of the time that top pick isn't the best in the NBA...........I know that.
...and so do NBA GMs, which is why they have stopped drafting guys based on college success, and have begun to look at skill sets, size, speed, athleticism, because there are just too many system guys, like say ummmmm, Danny Ferry, or say ummmmm Sean May.
See I'm thinking like those GM's who's going to put millions of dollars on one player. They look at productivity ,wins, personality and does that kid know how to live like a professional who makes a crap load of money. Maybe some players will be better in the NBA future, but as far as now, Tyler Hansbrough is at the top along with Beasley and most of those players you named need to stay in college .
Wrong, wrong, and lets see wrong again. GMs loose their jobs for not winning games, and they do that by drafting great college basketball players that turn out to be marginal NBA guys (see Elgin Baylor). GMs do not look at productivity, wins or any of that other crap you listed, they look for talent, specifically skill sets which will help their team win basketball games. The one year wonder has been around for two years, before that GM's were drafting high school kids, and often they would do so ahead of some of the best college basketball players available, why? cause they want to keep their jobs, Kwame Brown was a wake up call, and probably the reason the NBA requires at least one year of college ball these days, but make no mistake, GMs are looking for all-star potential, and Brown looked to have it so he was taken #1 overall ahead of great college players such as Shane Battier (# 6 overall), and Jason Richardson (# 5 overall). As another example, and this time a successful one Dwight Howard, a high scool kid, was drfted #1 ahead of Emeka Okafor, hands down the best big man in college that year, was that because of wins, productivity, personality, or maybe it was that the Orlando GM believed, and rightly so, that Howard would be the better pro.
I'm not telling you that you can't believe that Hansbrough will be a great NBA player, I'm just sayin I don't think many NBA GMs agree with you.

I think the Bulls have to hold on to Ben Gordon and Luol Deng. If they want to get rid of anybody in a sign and trade, they should give up Tyrus Thomas, Chris Duhon, and Cedric Simmons. Then in another deal, they should give up Kirk Hinrich,Andres Nocioni, and their 2nd round draft pick. The only way these trades would make them better is if we trade for a couple of ALL STAR PLAYERS, JIM PAXSON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
