Call it what you would like.... pressure?  Try stamina!!!

John Maine has never pitched more than 90 innings in his career and the year prior he pitched 60.

Just a pitcher wearing down over the course of a season.

Are you able to get inside John Maine's head to determine just how much pressure he can handle?

Braves 3-5 better than that of the Mets... I think not!

"I wouldnt trade Maine and Perez for Glavine, Hampton, and Jurrjens but what do I know"-METS2k7

God I should hope not. Any GM that would go for that deal would be about stupid. i'd never give up Glavine Hampton and Jurrjens for two overrated pumped up by the media pitchers. I mean come on. If Maine were on say, the Giants. Would you really be going ga ga over 15 wins?? I think not. Oh yeah.. PS: Oliver Perez has a losing record for his career. The guy only has three winning seasons. woo yeah I realllly want that on my team.

Also.. the Mets are now putting a tremendous amount on Santana, a man that is new to the National League and had somewhat of an 'off year' going 15-13.

As far as pedro goes, What happens if Pedro does go down? Jorge Sosa? Believe me the fans of Atlanta know allll about him. He seems like a miracle man but he's just another one-minute-wonder. And how about the highly unlikely chance of Santana going down? Who do the mets have? I really don't know because I am unfamilur with their farm system, but as for the Braves, we're so stacked in pitching its rediculous. If we were to lose Hudson and Smoltz, the impact wouldn't be no where near as hard as it would be on the mets or on the Phillies for that matter.

Its not about the number of pennants or the rings... your jumping into a conversation that you know nothing about. Read the entire post and then comment. - metfan2k7

Ok obviously you didnt read past where you left off earlier, because if you did you would have read the following:

Okay, the chick is on the scene and after reviewing the post, here is my take on things:
(Post submitted by BravoChick on April 2, 2008 at 1:09 pm)

Oh and I know its hard for you to take on those big words like 'reviewing'.. so I have taken the liberty of getting the defintion for you.
  1. To look over, study, or examine again.
  2. To consider retrospectively; look back on.
  3. To examine with an eye to criticism or correction: reviewed the research findings.
  4. To write or give a critical report on (a new work or performance, for example).
Unlike some, I make sure i'm thoroughly informed on what is going on before I submit my opinion..

Oh yeah and one more thing.. If its not about winning pennants and world series, then WTF is baseball about?!

You say I can't get into John Maine's head to declare it was pressure and not stamina, but how can you say it was stamina and not pressure?  Did you get into his head?

You might agrue that it happened when his innings got up there,

but I will agrue it also happened when the pressure got up there.

Who's right?  Neither of us know.

But him moving up the rotation again will affect his stamina and pressure wouldn't you say?

No disrespect but please read the entire thread.... In general its all about world series rings!!!!  However, my comment to 14- was in regards to a conversation between me and Cowboy that had nothing to do with reality.  Geez this is getting old.

Larry all Im saying is I can show you innings pitched in Maine's career.  I can build a case for his lack of stamina.  What can you show me?

FYI, Oliver Perez was also hurt in his career with the Pirates.. lets see what he does this season.  Mike Hampton hasnt pitched since the early part of 2005 where Oliver has at least proven something recently.   As for John Maine well his time of service is the only thing holding him back.  Tom Glavine?  Did you watch last season at all?  He's a bum!!!

Your still hung up on the stats they put up several years ago but today they are worth no more than a puddle of mud.

I. DID read the whole post.  What part of that do you not understand??

Perhaps you should rephrase,

BravoChick-

Its not about the number of pennants or the rings...

Sounds like you're saying baseball isn't about the number of pennants or the rings.  Neither you nor Larry can read Maine's mind and I can't read yours either.  You need to clarify yourself.
