He dominated today! If he keeps it up, he's gonna be NL Cy Young winner

Was an impressive outing against a good hitting division rival. He was able to keep Ramirez and Uggla under control, but gave up a long ball to Willingham which isn't too bad since he hit 26 homers last year, and coule hit 30+ this year.

Yes, if he does win every start which would be keeping it up i can almost garentee he will win the Cy Young, but his fastball is slower and his stuff didnt look as sharp. Watch out

I'm from Minnesota and I'm a huge Twins fan and you guys got one hell of a pitcher. Johan was a stud night in and night out and with the Mets' offense, Johan should easily be over 20 wins this year.

I'm still bummed that the Twins couldn't keep Johan Santana. It's ridiculous how great he is, even in a Mets uniform. However, Carlos Gomez looks like he will be a great replacement for Torii Hunter. Maybe the Twins will see the Mets in October this year

I hate to tell you this, but the guy is human. He gave up a whopping TWO RUNS.
In all seriousness, he is legit and will continue to dominate for the Mets. Solid performance today.

Dwade1990, once he gets back into midseason form, I'm sure Johan will be just fine. Opening day, new uniform, new teamates, new surroundings: Santana will be back to normal in a bit. And it just goes to show, even when he's rusty, he's still dominant. Willingham's gonna hit homers all year, he won't let that shake him.

Johan Santana is the most dominating pitcher in the game and he continued to prove that opening day! I love watching the control he has and how he freezes hitters. This is going to be a great season! Pedro is up next. Let's Go Mets!!!!!!

Is everyone overlooking this fact, he pitched well but it was against the Marlins!!! A likely candidate for 100+ losses this year. I wouldnt get too excited.... not for awhile.

It was the Marlins, everyone understands that. But when there is so much hype surrounding a free agent signing people are going to get excited about it. Especially when the free agent was a dominating as Johan was on Monday. Don't forget, with Ramirez and Uggla, the Marlins have two of the best hitters at their respective positions. Not to mention that Willingham isn't too shabby either. The Marlins were a team that hit over 200 HRs last year, granted that was with Cabrera, but the rest of the guys aren't too bad, we're not talking about the Orioles or Giants.

I still think the Twins will end up with the better end of the Santana deal...Gomez is so exciting he will be fun to watch and can take over a game with his speed

Sorry, puff this up any old way you want and the other poster's comment that Florida will lose 100 games is closer to the fact.
This has nothing to do with Santana. A win is a win and they are all legal but what you are doing here is debating the statement that he beat an easy team by propping up phony facts. Read back over this one.
200 homers "last year" (granted, with somebody in the lineup who isn't with the team now.)
Willingham "not too shabby" (going into the Hall of Fame next month.)
So no we are not talking about the Orioles or Giants, both of which are better than the Fish.
