It is time for Joe to go. No matter whom you support , you do not snub an ex President. Even worse is the fact H. C.'s father and brother played at PSU. Would he snub them also?

As Bill Buckley said " we can diagree without being disareeable" The man is ls living in his own world.

I never thought of it like that...that's a good point.   Points can be argued and disagreed upon without hating/disliking the other person.

Unfortunately, I think that's what politics often comes to in our country. I don't know about you, but whenever I hear people discuss politics, whether it's at work, home the bars wherever, it oftentimes becomes a hostile conversation and pretty soon voices rise, people cut each other off and tempers flare which really defeats the point of trying to have a  conversation.

Good post IDP NUT.  I vote for conservative Republicans, but if we are going to complain about college campuses disrespecting Republicans (which is nearly always the case), then we better be prepared to do just the opposite.  That was just plain dorky on Joe Pa's part, and has made him a bit of a laughingstock.  He obviously isn't thinking clearly.

why does Joe Pa have to greet this man??  Because he's a former President??  Why can't he make his own decisions and not be ridiculed for them??  It's perfectly ok for Hillary and her Democratic colleagues to snub and call our current President names, but it's not ok for Joe Pa to stick to his convicitions.  If he doesn't support Hillary or never cared for Bill why should he put on an act??  He shouldn't!!  I understand your point, but before you criticize Joe Pa, take a look at the other side (Clintons) and how they treat other people.  If they didn't think Joe Pa could get votes for them they wouldn't even look his way.

I think it is more a matter of not wanting to create the appearance of tacit endorsement, given his son's outspoken support for Sen. Obama. True, too, is the fact that he is a Republican and doesn't have a vote at this point.

Maybe the fact that Penn State is in the middle of spring drills has something to do with it. He didn't say anything bad about Clinton, he just choose not to meet him. If he'd have bashed him publicly I'd agree that he was out of line.

You want to talk about disgusting, talk about the reception our president got while throwing out the first pitch for the Nationals last night. That was truly disgusting. 20,000 people booing the president. and you're bashing Joe just because he didn't want to meet Clinton?

Well given the current state of the country, i would say just booing Bush is letting him off easy.  As for Joe Pa not shaking hands with Clinton and telling him what a supporter he is (which he obviously isn't), WHO CARES?  Joe is a college football coach.  That's the beginning and end of it.  He has NO obligation to get involved in politics.  We need to separate our football and politics.  They have nothing to do with each other.

Tell that to Richard Nixon and the National Champion Texas Longhorns.

Another classless move by JoePa. Pennsylvanians sure should be proud!

I hope this guy coaches another decade. OSU won't have to worry about PSU then.

Why is this even news? Who cares what Paterno does off the football field. he has pretty much been a joke on the sidelines for years, but off of it he is a complete nonentity.
