Why would they do this just for the money! Stay in school, they are not even in the top 20 in this draft!

For two guys who were at Stanford, I thought they'd be a bit brighter

Brook Lopez is a quality 7-footer who I think made a pretty good decision. He is a great post-player.
However, I think Robin is making a huge mistake. He is a good defender, but unfortunately he has Joakim Noah-like offensive skills. If Robin would of stayed for his junior year, he could of established himself as a go-to-guy at Stanford. Have fun in the D-League Robin.

I agree they are not going to be in the top 20 due to the true stars that are available and the foriegn group that always come in to play. They will regret the decision!

the worst part is even if they did get drafted they are bound to bounce around the nbdl and have little chance of a second contract. if they stay and developed even a little they would have a shot at a career.

Brook: will end up in top 10. watch. he's better than people who haven't really watched him think he is. Stanford had no good guards this year which meant that they made it to the sweet 16 on the backs of 2 big men. That's rare...
Robin: when not behind Brook, he scores and blocks just like him. he should stay one more year at stanford to shine. this is a bad choice...

I think it is hard to tell where Robin Lopez will go. He's a decent 7 footer, but not spectacular. But off the top of my head, I can't think of a better center than Brook Lopez in the draft. One has to assume that there will be a center picked in the lottery, and no one comes to mind who will likely be drafted higher. ESPN's Mock Draft has him going 4th.

What are you all smoking???
Brook Lopez is projected to be a top-5 pick and has been for pretty much the whole year. Even if he falls he is well inside the top 20.
Robin Lopez is recently being projected as high as mid-first round and as low as the early 20s. Even if he falls he's probably going in the first round on his size and defense alone.
While I agree that it wouldn't have hurt Robin to get a year as "the man" before going, it might actually be good for him to wind up goign to one of the top teams and spending a few years just playing solid defense and complementing a Tim Duncan/Kevin Garnett type player
As for Brook, his stock will never be higher, especially after his performance in this tournament.

Like Lefty Driesell always says "You can't coach 7' 0" " but 10 points a game for Robin in the PAC 10 does make him an NBA player.
With 2 more years to go they can learn a lot before they make the leap. Especially Robin. There must be a twin thing going on.

Brook Lopez goes top 10 without a doubt. Maybe even top 5. Robin will probably go first round. Brook's decision to leave is probably a smart one-if he wanted to stay in school he wouldn't have been academically ineligible at the start of the season. Robin could probably use another year and he isn't the player that Brook is, but he should still be a first rounder.

Thank you jay23bball! Finally someone actually knows what they are talking about. Both Lopez brothers will go in the first round.. Brooke top 5 and Robin late first round. Robin might be a bench player first but Brooke will definetly be a role player on any team and will probably starts at least half the games next year.

Brook Lopez's Decision is not surprising. He is definitely a top 10 pick with some sites such as NBAdraft.net have him #3 Overall. For those who have not watched him, he is an amazing offensive force in the low blocks. He would score through double teams consistently with large amounts of contact. His defense could use more work but you cannot pass up lottery time.
Robin Lopez will be a late first rounder. He could have used another year where the offense would have flowed through him like it did this year for his brother. Robin's defense and rebounding are superior but he could have used another year to refine his offensive skills to be a lottery pick like his brother.
I am very surprised by Robin's decision. He could have thrived with another year at Stanford to further develop his skills. Instead, he will be riding the pine somewhere or even worse in the D-League. I read somewhere that the twins do everything at the same time.

Anyone who watched them all year knew they completely affected the game. 7', and better than average footwork, every NBA team needs that. Easily top 10 for Brooke, Robin around #25
What every team doesn't need is their attitude and theories about Disney and Pixar films. That interview on CBS was the strangest and most bizarre rant about animated movies of all time...it was then that I realized these guys have no business going to Stanford. They aren't running on all cylinders. And their facial expressions throughout games is equal to Kobe Bryant. Always whining and angry--throwing temper tantrums on the court.
Don't get me wrong. I like Stanford, they're a classy school, and this will hurt them. But these Lopez twins didn't represent the University very well, and think it's good for Stanford to see their angry mugs getting "Tech Fouls" in the NBA instead of in March under a crimson jersey.

Sorry to have to be the bearer of bad news for the lopez brothers, but Brooke will not be a top five player and robin will be 10-20 at best, Mostly because they are out of the news, and the Loves, Hansboroughs, Roses, and dorsey's will be getting all the hype for another whole week, But also because they are not even remotely polished enough to be in the rotation of an NBA team, OK maybe the heat. And I didn't even mention, Beasley, Mayo, Gordon, Rush, and others who will most certainly be drafted before the Lopez brothers. Sorry, but they still might get an NBDL title before next year is over. Also isn't There mom already playing for the Cavaliers this year? Just Kidding Anderson Varejao.
