Ok let me start off by saying I am more of an NBA fan than an NCAA, but I am huge fan of the NBA age limit. Not that it matters, but I'm sure it would have been mentioned at some point in the thread so I'm getting it out of the way now.
Anyway, Stephen Curry is an idiot if he stays in college. Even though he won't be anything other than a bench player to come in and hit the occsional 3 in the NBA, some team will be dumb enough to waste a lottery pick on him because of his good tourney run (it happens every year).
I don't know what his money situation is like with his father being an ex-NBA player, but I'm sure he'd be better off going pro now than staying in college and not improving his game at all. His stock has never been higher and it never will be this high again. If he really cares about finishing his degree, he can always take summer classes and/or finish up when he retires from the NBA.

From a financial standpoint, yea, but like you said, he won't be more than a situational bench player if he enters the league next year so if hes having a good time at college why not stay?

if hes having a good time at college why not stay? Is one more year of college really worth it for all that money? I've been in college for 2 years and I've had my fun, if someone offered me all that money to give it up I'd do it in a heartbeat. Now if I never experienced college life that'd be different, but 2 years is good for me.

So since no one is responding does that mean I'm 100% correct or 100% wrong?
BTW, I know the answer to that question.

Got news for you all. I'm 49 years old and make big bucks and the four years of college were still the best times of my life. All the money in the world doesn't mean anything in establishing the happiness you get out of life. Stay in school for the life experience and the friends you meet. That and the education you get are priceless.

Since his Dad spent a lot of years in the NBA I doubt money is a big issue in their family. I think he likes Davidson. While the team will lose Jason Richards, Thomas Sander, and Boris Meno to graduation Davidson's time is not over. Along with Curry they have Lovedale and Paulus-Gosselin back from the starters, and both Rossiter and Barr look ready to step up from this season's bench. There is still plenty of talent there, and Coach McKillop is as good as anyone in the country at his job. Lots of good reasons to stay in school.

After what he experienced these past two weeks, I would be very surprised if he even considered leaving. I really don't think it is an option. I am sure he is thinking about making another run to the final four next year.
Why would he go pro? Hes a young kid who loves the game of basketball. I am sure he has had dreams of playing in the NBA since he was young - and he will, but not just yet. His passion and heart for the sport will not allow him to go out for the draft. I think he would rather be a stud in college for two more years then sit the bench in the NBA.
For the sake of college basketball, I hope he stays...

Too many fans worrying about the pros and base someones value on a few games. Curry is a great college player but you have to wonder if he has the strength to hold up over 81 games and if he will even play. The NBA is a completely different game.
Let us not forget JJ Redick one of the greatest outside shooter we have seen and where is he in the pros? Why would you want to see someone leave the college game to sit on the bench? Curry could be a millionaire tomorrow but like someone said you can never have your college years back.

Okay, first of all, let's lose the hyperbole, shall we? An idiot? C'mon. I realize our culture has effectively eviscerated that term of its original connotation, but it's still an awful strong pejorative. How about "foolish?"
Secondly, I echo the sentiments expressed above. I think there are valid reasons for his decision either way. Does anyone remember Eric Maynor from last year? The VCU guard who almost singlehandedly beat the Duke Blue Devils in the tournament? Everyone was touting him as a possible POY candidate if he decided to return to the Rams, and a lock for the Draft if he jumped. Now, can anyone even recall having heard his name this year? That's because he didn't lead his team back to the Sweet Sixteen (or even an NCAA bid).
