It should be a great game but Curry will have to face Flowers!!!!! GT did not have a player like Flowers to guard Curry. I look for the Badgers D to be able to lock in and slow down Davidson and I hope Hughes can have another monster game. Perhaps Trevon can lead us to the final 4 with his offense.

so i was on SI's website looking up some stats on both teams. trying to figure out how much bigger flowers is that curry. well wouldnt you know, according to SI, curry is 2 inches taller, and has 5 lbs on flowers.  ha ha.  i've had bowl movements that weigh more than curry.  Oh well, neither here nor there. Sconnie, this is way later then the other pats on the back, but seriously, you know whats up. It breaks my heart to hear such a good fan has to miss the game. Oh well, this tech better pay you back big, when you need it!!!!

I like to think that we can leave mike on curry, trevon is a solid enough defender to slow richards, and someone nailed it, our help defense is second to none. I like flowers on curry, simply to stop the kick out pass. Remember though, if you've seen davidson's last few tourney games, they've been close at the end, and they scrap thier offense. it then becomes curry throwing up shots OVER defenders, so the key is stopping the drive and kick EARLY. if it comes down to the last minute or two, thats when defense cant stop curry. let richard's drive, and give him one on one to the rim, just have the help D close the passing lane BEHIND him. i'll take four against richards all day long.

Go BuckY!

Sconnie, hope you have the willpower to not find out the score on Friday.  That could be a tall order in Madison.  Anytime I try to DVR a live game I end up caving and texting a friend or finding a TV somewhere to catch a quick score.

One of the few times I actually recorded a game to watch it later, as if it was live, was the Michigan/Colorado game with the Kordell Stewart hail mary pass.  Thought it would be a good game so I taped it (yep, VCR days).  Of course, the tape ran out with about 10 seconds left in the game...just before the final play.  Couldn't have timed it any better if I tried.

In response to the Vershaw guy above, what the hell is a bowl movement?  Sorry, but I'm a nerd.

If your boys can hold Curry and Richards in check, that's basically it.  The post players are productive on offense only when Richards feeds them and the 3-man, Max, is a fantastic defender but rarely contributes much on offense.  But shutting those two down isn't easy.

My hope is that while he's going through the starting luneups the PA announcer will mispronounce Curry's first name (properly pronounces Steffen).  The announcer at Appalachian State mispronounced it earlier this year (clearly on purpose) and Curry responded by scoring 38 points, which set a new record for points scored in App State's gym.

By the way, Richards is 6 assists away from breaking the school record for career assists.

Curry not very good at defense? Um. What about those five steals per game he averages in the NCAA tournament? Say what you want about the "other plays," and I really don't know what you see. Davidson from top to bottom is just an outstanding defensive team and they are just so fundamentally sound.
