This has got to be what the doctor ordered, I think someone's head got a little to big. The demotion to AAA should help Bailey check his ego and realize he still has to prove himself. That roster spot was never guaranteed, at the same time...welcome to Cincinnati Johnny Cueto!

I agree Rang. He obviously wasn't quite ready. He'll have a chance to work on his finesse pitches in AAA. We know he's got the heat, but he just needs to locate better, and the best place to learn to do that is not in Cincinnati against big league hitters, or in the bullpen where he'd get infrequent work. Learn to get some control during regular starts in Louisville and we'll welcome you back to Cincy whenever you're ready for it, Homer. It's looking like the Bats are going to have one hell of a roster this season.

Speaking of the Louisville Bats, check out their projected outfield this year. I don't know who will be playing where, but it will more than likely consist of Jerry Gil, Jay Bruce, and Chris Dickerson. I thought it was strange that they're putting Gil out there because I thought he was a SS, but I guess they played him enough in the OF this spring that they feel he can play everday in RF or LF.

No Paul Janish will start at shortstop. I think Gil can play short though, but as of right now Janish will start at short for the Bats.

Why are so many people down on David Weathers? He was the only pitcher that we could call from our bullpen and actually have some faith in. Yes he doesn't have overpowering stuff, but you don't need it to be successful. Until he proves otherwise, he is one of the best bullpen arms we have.

Yes I have gone to games the past few years. The fact is he is the best bullpen arm we have now, except maybe Francisco Corder (I'm worried about Jared Burton, he's struggled mightily this spring). The past 3 year's David Weathers has had an ERA under 4.00 (3.94, 3.54, 3.59 for 2005, 2006, and 2007, respectively). What's bad about that?

RANG I dont think it was that his ego got to big. He was just nervous. He's just a kid! I personally got to see him warm-up in the bullpen on multiple occations and everytime he looked like a wreck. He was talking to himself, sweating like crazy, and looked sick. I don't blame him either, but I think in time he will emerge into the ace that he is.
