Well it's obvious so far that the Big East, Pac 10, Big 12 and Big 10 are the class of this tournament. I was really hoping that Marquette would beat Stanford so that we could claim dominance over the Pac-10 after the Washington St - Notre Dame debacle, but so far they've got us 2-1. Still, this was a great game that Marquette had the chance to win twice, but credit to Stanford and their fill-in coach: they got it done when they needed to. Those Lopez twins are monsters man. I don't know how that last shot went it, but it sure did

Still, the Beast should have put to rest any of that "overrated" talk and the bitching about them getting 8 teams in the tourney. Who was the last one in again? Oh yeah, Villanova. What did they do? Oh yeah, beat Clemson.

Big East = 2-0 vs. ACC's top 3 teams. Suck it DUKE!! They are some of the worst fans for bragging and getting in your face, and I don't usually get nasty but it's time for some comeuppance for the cockiest, loudest-mouthed fanbase in all of college basketball. I'm very happy they'll be sitting home watching the 2nd weekend yet again. I heard time and again that the ACC was far superior to every other conference, when I've been saying all along it was Big East, Pac 10 and Big 12. Maybe now all the Dookie fans will knock it off and admit they were beaten by a better team from a better all around conference. Oh yeah, the team that finished 5th in the "weaker" Big East. The team that sent you packing.

Can you say "instant classic"?  Marquette came with their best and Stanford found a way to overcome it.  Besides the obvious Lopez domination, I though the play of Mitch Johnson (16 asst/1 TO) was the key to our big win.

Amen to the ACC as an overrated conference.  I have been saying all year that the Pac 10 and Big East are where the big boys play.  It is starting to show!!

A nice trip to Houston to battle, most likely, Texas.  Should be another crazy 40 minutes for basketball.

GO CARDINAL!!

Agreed. Mitch Johnson played one of this best games. Well played by both sides. In many ways, the most entertaining game of the tournament so far.

It's not like the guy is some scrub, he was a head coach for quite a while before becoming an assistant. That said, it was a great job by Stanford. I've always thought they were the best team in the Pac-10, and if UCLA loses tonight, it will prove me right. I know how good UCLA should be, and how good they have been. But there's something missing with them. Stanford plays with a hell of a lot of passion and I think they've got a good shot at going deep. The Lopez twins are a tough row to hoe for any team facing them, and Johnson was definitely amazing tonight. Good game, Cardinal.

I agree that Stanford is better than UCLA.  The Cardinal had the Bruins beat in LA only to have the game stolen from them by a totally bogus call at the end of the game.  And hey, why all the fuss about Kevin Love.  Brook Lopez is a better college player and will be a way better pro.  That said, UCLA is a typical Ben Howland team.  I admire the way they defend and Collison is a stud.

Thanks for adding the Big Ten.  We have taken a  lot of criticism for being a weak conference in recent years but continue to have at least one of our teams make a run deep into the tournament on a consistent basis!

I hope your right and Stanford does go deep into the tourney.  I've got them going to the final four in my bracket!
