"WSU fans remember you are playing a team that is 34-2, not 16-16."

Notre Dame was 25-7, including a 14-4 record in the Big East before their loss to WSU, so what's your point?  The Heels have been down to the wire against less talented teams than the Cougs.  Virginia Tech(20-13) played them to within 2 points in their own conference tourney only a week and a half ago, so if they can do it then I'm sure the Cougs could do it.

"I don't think we'll score 80+ against Wazzu, but I also know it won't be in the 50's."

Agreed.  Of the teams that scored more than 75 points against the Cougs, UCLA shot 57% in an 81 point effort and Arizona shot 55% in a 76 point effort.  So.....this one will most likely be somewhere in the 70's.

"Like Bob Knight..he chose ND over WSU!!"

I was totally expecting him to pick the Cougs to win.  I'm sure that Derrick Low reminds him a lot of Calbert Cheaney running back and forth along the baseline trying to work himself free for an open three.

I am wondering what Bob Knight would say about WSU vs UNC.

Tar Heel grad here.  I think we're going to see a really interesting game on Thursday.  WSU has lost every game this season when their opponent scores more than 60 points, and UNC has scored more than 60 points every game.  Something has to break.

Also, the two teams match up together well, but as outlined earlier both want to play an entirely different kind of basketball.  It makes for great basketball! 

Good luck to Washington and I hope both teams play well to make it a great game to put down in the books!

Not true.  They beat Boise State 86-74, Air Force 71-62, Baylor 67-64, Washington 76-73, and Oregon 75-70.  All but one of their losses has come when their opponent has scored more than 65 points though, so the odds of NC winning goes up exponentially as the score creaps up higher and higher above that number.

Vegas only has us listed as 7 point underdogs if that tells you anything about how close this game is expected to be.  Gotta say I'm impressed with the love being shown from all the other fans out there... or maybe they're just UNC haters.  Either way it's nice to see the Cougs finally getting some respect, lord knows ESPN isn't showing any.

Simply put.  They don't.  They do however have size in the middle with their 7' center and 6'10" power forward.  Assuming neither gets into foul trouble, Tyler is going to be forced to pass out of double teams, or hope he makes his somewhat ackward shots down low, which usually isn't a problem for him.  So, we'll see.  A lot of variables need to go WSU's way, or the upset simply won't happen.   

"what happens if by chance UNC goes on a small run or two of 7-2 or 9-3 and get up double digits, can you make a run of your own???...."

Not likely if it happens late, but they've dug themselves out of quite a few double digit leads this season by simply playing shut down defense for a large span of time.  They can usually weather the storm, so to speak.   

Gentlemen, I really expected more back and forth post regarding Washington States upcoming game with the Tar Heels.  Just a realistic conversation giving Carolina a chance. Instead I've found posters wanting attention from ESPN expecting to blow Carolina off the floor with a slow, low scoring and defensive draining game.

Sorry, but that won't happen.  We do have more than Tyler Hansbrough on our team.  And yes, I've seen you play, you have a very good team.  I do promise Carolina will be a little better than Notre Dame, we'll see.
