We drew Akron in the first round in Tallahassee. Thoughts?

Also in our bracket: 1. Syracuse 2. Massachusetts 3. Florida State 4. Minnesota 5. Maryland 6. Akron 7. Stephen F. Austin 8. Robert Morris

I am glad we got a 3 seed. Thought we would be lower.  But we are in a easy bracket.  I think we can make it back to the final 4 like last year.

Go Noles!!!

We went to the elite 8 last year.

I think Maryland might be a problem in the second round, but if we play Minnesota we will take care of them like we did earlier in the season. Syracuse will be a problem with all of their 6-10 guys. We only have three forwards left.

GO NOLES!

My first thought is that since we are guaranteed at least one home game, FSU should win that one.  Now, it all depends on the teams with the higher seeds since the format has changed.  More than likely, FSU needs to mentally prepare to go on the road and deal with the hostile crowds.  Both Syracuse and Massachusetts are good teams and tough environments in which to win.  Again, their mental toughness will dictate how they play.

I thinks it a good draw...I'm afraid of Syracuse though - Big East probably the most underated conference this year by far.

Diehard,
Yep, you are right we only made it to the elite 8 last year.  I still think we have the easiest bracket of the NIT.  Some of the others are more tough, so I feel that we can at least make it to the elite 8 if not the final 4.  I am not worried about Maryland or Minn.  We will beat Minn like earlier this year and will complete the whole game unlike eariler this year against Maryland when we blew a 10+ point lead in the 2nd half. I do agree that we will have an issue with Syracuse's big men.  I look forward to tonights game.

Go Noles.

Come on Seminole fans, are we really shocked they lost?!?! It's been years since fans could cheer about our football/basketball program.

I guess there is always next year.....

Cannot believe that we lost.  We just were not ready to play yesterday.  The beginning of that game was horrible.  I have never seen us turn the ball over on so many easy and dumb plays.  What a way to end the season. I did expect us to go a little further in the NIT, but this is how our whole year has gone.

Well, what can I say? Akron is a pretty good team. They almost got into the NCAA's but got beat out by Kent State in the MAC final. We just turned the ball over way to many times. You can't win when you turn the ball over 20+ times. Somehow we got it into overtime, but we turned it over in overtime a lot as well.

Another thing, it seemed like the game was being played in Ohio. I'm pretty sure there were more Akron fans there then there were FSU fans. That's ridiculous. It doesn't really count as a home game when your own fans are outnumbered. This program will never get any better unless the hometown fans come out to the games. It seems like the fans only show up for Duke and Carolina and look how we have played against them at home for the Leonard Hamilton years. We've won 3 or 4 games against them at home. I understand we're a football school and basketball will never be bigger than football, but we've had some good teams. We're getting great recruits next year and we need to make some noise.

Thank you Jason Rick for having more turnovers than points. Great last game of your career.
