I am sure that he was just playing with everyone.... EVERYONE knows it is THE Ohio State University.... Calm down everyone.... Don't sweat the small stuff...
The suspense reasoning only holds water if he wasn't still technically considering Penn State...which is officially called THE Pennsylvania State University.
And he is right, OSU will get him to the NFL where he will be a huge success like all the other OSU QBs...oh wait a minute, there are none of those!
The kid really should learn the name of school he is going to.
Geez lets try and find more reasons to beat on this kid.... If he came out and said THE people would have known right away... so all of a sudden he is a dumb kid that wont amount to anything because he is going to tOSU but if he would have went to your school hed be the next big thing... im just glad he made a decision finally, and hope he isnt liek the last hyped QB we got by the name of Justin Zwick
Its actually The Ohio State University. (Just so you don't have to hear the buckeye fans bitch and moan about it.) Penn State is also The Pennsylvania State University. We're just not as anal about it as the OSU rejects are.
Well...IF he was just "playing" everyone, then he is truly a d**k and is destined to be the next Jimmy Clausen. To show a total lack of respect to ANY fan base, is just inviting ridicule.
With the benefit of doubt, we'll settle on stupid...and maybe deserving of a break. Because if he washes out, every Michigan fan will be calling him "University of Ohio State" every time he shows up at their door with a pizza. It's a looooooooong way down.
Oh there been some great QB's to go pro out of OSU. Craig Krenzel played a game or two. Bobby Hoying had a great season for the Eagles in 98 (3-13) and now you've got Troy Smith keeping the bench from blowing away in baltimore.
It is an element of surprise, because if he said "THE..." people would know right away which school he was going to say...
Good point. Because there is no way anybody could have waited the extra half second. Once he would have said "The", everybody would have left and not even heard which university it was or what shirt and cap he was wearing. Half a second of suspense was well planned out.
Wow.......It is very interesting to see how many people are already steaming over his choice of school. I love it.......All these Michigan fans getting their hopes crushed and then running to a message board to cry that he said university first.....LMAO......"man, he said University, I thought he was coming here to Michigan fo' sho'...........Oh well, lets go to a message board and voice our frustration"........................................Hilarious
How come nobody talks about the fact that OSU has 54 former players currently playing in the NFL. Oregon has 23, Penn St has 33, and Michigan 49. That might be part of the reason he wanted to go to one of the top NFL finishing rules. If you don't have one maybe you could just buy a clue!!
Granted, the kid is at the top of his class for 2008. But, I would think it is a little early to be thinking about the NFL at this point. I understand he won 2 state championships, football and basketball, but keep in mind, he plays in the small school division of PA, AA as it is known here. I wouldn't even consider A as the smallest, noone even knows anything about that division. It is fairly weak, to mediocre as far as competitive is, as best. I give him credit for all his accomplishments, but he wouldn't have #'s like that if he was playing big schools. He won't even come close to graduating, and will likely take the minimum 12 credits each semester. My point is, looks bad when your recruit indicates on the first day that basically he will probably leave school early if all goes well and head to the NFL. Doesn't matter how the academics are, just do what is necessary to get to the NFL. Great role model for kids close to his age. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ is what it's all about. Do you really think that his family is "friends" with Charlie Batch? Give me a break. He needs to do something in college, like, maybe throw a pass, before he thinks about the NFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He will be a mediocre QB at best in college. There are dozens of him playing right now that come out of HS every year, and 99% don't even make it in the NFL. The one's who do make it, aren't the guys you hear about on signing day!!! Think about it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
aa is fairly small, but it also produced the #1 TE in the country in johnathan baldwin from aliquippa....and if you have any question about the level of competition that shouldve have been eliminated if you watched the army game, where tp received mvp honors, not bad i guess....
in response to him calling it the uos, i know it looks bad, but god forbid an 18 yr old kid makes a grammatical error on probably the most nerve racking day of his life....
