Man, have the Pacers gotten a little case of the Ron Artest Syndrome? Two more nba players getting charged in a fight, no less at a bar and basically get off scott free.
I think today's athletes really think that they can do whatever they want and not get in trouble and even if they do, they know they will get off easy!
Granted Ron Artest has been a model citizen for the Kings, so that statement is a little harsh by me, but his name was the first thing that came to my head.
Who says they did the crime? It says right there in the story that the guy did not know who hit him. To me, it's just another story of somebody recognizing professional ball players and thinking "oh I can make some money out of this." It happened a year or so ago with Allen Iverson, somebody alleged he did something and then sued him for a lot of money. We all know Jamaal Tinsley has a habit for being in the wrong place at the wrong time and making bad decisions but you can't put him in jail for 4 years for something he "allegedly" did. The counseling and courses are the right way to go with him.
"According to a police report, bar manager Mark Nicholson said Tinsley threatened to kill him during the melee. The report also said Tinsley punched Nicholson, knocking him to his knees, and Daniels and another man struck him repeatedly in the face.
But Wyser said he received a letter over the weekend from Nicholson, saying he could not identify who hit him."
So the guy makes a police report and then claims he doesn't know who hit him? interesting!
I'm not saying that they did the crime, I just find it funny how another athlete is in trouble.
Well, its convenient for the players that we'll never know what happened. My bet, based on the chronology, is that Wyser got a nice little sum of money to "forget" who gave him the smack-down. He knew well enough and police believed it enough to file the original charges, but now "forgot". Maybe it's legitimate. But I'd like to see what's happened to his bank account recently!
Hey at least they don't have the Kobe Bryant Syndrome,, that's even more serious,, That damn Grim Raper as I call him now. These players these days never seem to stay out of trouble.
This was a touchy situation as I know the bouncer at the bar and no one really knew what was going on and people were blamming everything on everybody. What most of you probably don't know is that there was a guy stealing fur coats that started a brawl and no one knew who was punching who. The guy I knew said he thought Tinsley and them just got up and left when things got ugly. I don't agree with the whole situation and am not a fan at all of Tinsley, but lets not just make crap up in our heads about what happened without really knowing.
I find very discouraging that professional athletes cannot control their emotions off the field.
Tinsley and Daniels are part of long list of players acting immature and showing no character. These players have the privilege of being blessed with superior athletic abilities and placed on the level of a person many young would like to be on.Yet these athletes resort to tattoos for thousands of dollars there speech is poor wear their clothes like an immature child carry weapons get involved illegal endeavors with a few showing control with role model ideals. The money spent on tattoos could be spent on worthwhile causes donated to the church and people in need. Be violent carrying a weapon and the attitude mess with me and I will mess you up and has to be changed by asking why am I so angry and is there a way to channel my emotions thru positive channels to solve my issues. Being bold goes two ways and using violence and no thought is dumb. Do not do things that will have the possibilities to cause violence, do not make yourself a target.
As a Pacers fan, I would love if they got rid over everyone except for Granger and Dunlevey. The drop off from Football season to Basketball season is devastating for Indiana sports fans.
David Stern needs to be more like Roger Goodell and have a zero tolerance policy. He has to many thigs in his league. Players no longer are like Jordan, Magic and Bird. They want to be like Iverson, and Rasheed Wallace. It is time that Stern starts throwing his players out of the league for bad behavior, like he did with Artest and Sprewell.
