Which would be better? In the Midwest Regional, the 3 seed plays in Omaha(428 miles from Madison), but the 2 seed plays in Raleigh(1016 miles from Madison).

This is assuming we are put in the Midwest Region.

As we are not the number 1 seed you should not assume that we will be placed in the Midwest,  with the way they do the seeding this way look for the Badgers to be a 3 seed, and placed as close as possible to home, which could mean some games in Michigan.  Should we win the tourney and a couple of other teams falter we could move to a 2 seed, but with our conference only having the 5th or 6th best conference RPI, it will be really tough for us to move to that 2 line

I think that whether we are a 2 or 3 seed we will be in the Omaha Pod.  We will probably end up in the East Regional if we are a 2.

The first and second round locations are not locked to a specific region. It's a first come first serve, so Wisconsin will play at whatever location is closest to home as long as someone ahead of them hasnt been asigned that location first.

That isn;t how it works either. Your seed has little to do with WHERE you go in the FIRST two rounds. It is all about money, they place (where possible with the top 5 seeds) everyone as close to home as possible in the first two rounds, they want as many people as possible to go to those games ($$$$$$$$). When you are seeded in the Midwest as example that is all about where they have you going for the sweet sixteen if you get there. Don't confuse your seed in your region, with where you end up playing in the first rounds, they have nothing to do with eachother. Wisc could be in the West Regional and still play in Omaha in the first rounds. Look for Wisc to play in Omaha no matter what seed they get and no matter what region they get placed in

If we take of the task at hand which we should and handle ILL we should be a #2 seed, with duke going down yesterday that helps our cause plus the great comeback yesterday really helps.  Go bucky.....

Take a higher seed to play closer to home...and as long as we're not in UNC regional, we'll be alright.

Seeding at this point does not mean anything.  WI got passed over and now has a much tougher draw.  I think they are ok in the first 2 rounds but KSU could be trouble if they make it thru.

I like the fact that they are not getting any respect though.  I think they will thrive on that and play well .  GO BUCKY!!!
