No sh!t! I try to back Al. We all know he can be a little "offbeat", but 3 Superbowls speaks for itself. He sure is making it hard. Does every free agent we sign have to be coming off a serious injury? The bad back is just too much. How much time has LaMont Jordan missed because of his back the last few years. A DT with a bad back! He has to push alot more weight than Lamont. Come on Al work with us.

Maybe Al Davis figures if he signs the players from last years Super Bowl winner then his team will be able to win at least 6 games this year. William Joseph has been nothing but a bust and like Mr.Davis has continued to do. He has probably overpaid yet another player coming back from injury. I like bringing in Gabril Wilson, but he is paying him $39 Million for 6 years. $6.5 Million for a Safety. You gotta be kidding me. Besides Kickers,Punters, and Tight Ends. Safeties are usually the least paid in Football. Then this deal to try and be a quick fix for Warren Sapp retiring. Man Oh Man, I hope you realize that their is an NFL draft coming up Al Davis. I guess when you are getting close to 80. You can't wait that long to see how the draft will pan out so you get panicky and just sign players recklessly.

If you saw the pathetic tackling the Raiders had last season, you wouldn't think so poorly of Gibril Wilson. Something had to change with the pathetic safety play, and Wilson is just the hard hitting, sure-tackling monster the doctor ordered. The DT situation wasn't as bad as most would think, there were a lot of injuries, but bringing in someone categorized as a bust, looking to resurrect their career, with what I am guessing is a incentive-laden deal is just fine with me. Resurrecting careers is tradition with the Raiders.
As far as the money everyone seems to think is too much... we don't know the specifics of ANY of the contracts signed this off-season. Do you think Brett Favre got most of that 100 million dollar contract he signed? Hardly. By taking the total amount, and then just averaging that number by the number of years is just lazy and ignorant. But hey, whatever it takes to take a potshot at Al Davis huh? Keep on hatin'!

It doesn't take a hater to see that Oakland is wasting their money this offseason. Way overpaid for Gibril. He's great on the blitz and will occasionally make some nice hits on a RB, but coverage isn't his strong suit and he's not a sure tackler like you say. Solid, but not at that price. Tommy who? Tommy Kelly? Nobody has heard of this guy outside of Raiders fans and now he's the highest paid DT? Javon 'Creaky Knees, pissy attitude' Walker? He bitched his way off of two teams and can't stay healthy. And now the cherry on top of this sundae.. William Joseph? A worm has a better motor than him.
Any Oakland Raider worth anything has been drafted by them. EVERY free agent they've signed the last 10 years has been a bust. Save the money and draft better Al. That's not hating, thats fact.
