In last year's tourney, every ranked team was an 8 seed or higher except for Winthrop, who despite being in the top 25 was screwed with an 11-seed.  I fear that the inclination to screw the mid-major team may still be a powerful force.  Of course, Winthrop won in the 1st round anyway...

Commentators during the closing minutes of the SoCon Championship game put Davidson as a 7 or 8 seed. I rewound my TiVo to make sure I heard that right. Going into the tourney, I figured winning it all would guarantee them at least a 12 seed, higher than they've been in 40 years. But then, a funny thing happened with the AP and USA Today/Coaches poll, and voila, look at what we have here! I put them as a potential 7 or 8 if they have to travel (say the West), or more likely a 9 in the Midwest or South. GO CATS!!

I would be hip with an 11 or 12 seed.  I would appreciate the respect with a 7, 8, or 9 seed, but I think that with an 12 seed we can take out any 5 seed and then would match up with a 4 seed and those are winnable games, too.  I am not sure I want to see UNC, Duke, Texas, Kansas, UCLA, or Memphis in the second round.  Yes, I know we played UNC, Duke, and UCLA tough, but it woud be nice to give them a couple of chances to get knocked off before we match up with them,

I'd say 12 or 13. Winthrop got an 11 seed last year with some pretty big upsets and a few less losses. Don't get me wrong, I'm all about Davidson getting a high seed but their schedule wasn't jam packed with adversity either.

Zero wins against the top 100 rpi is going to hurt Davidson when they're seeding the tourney  I'm expecting a 10, 11, or 12.
