Try to put aside your love for the Crew and answer honestly.....who will take home the NL Central crown at season's end?

My prediction was the Cubs winning the division, Braves taking the Wild Card

I think it will be a tough race between the Cubs and the Brewers one key for both team will be to limit injuries which is plaqueing my Cubbies right now.

I almost certainly think the race will once again be between the Cubs and the Brewers.  I answered Brewers.  I like their offense even BETTER than last year's and they're bullpen is rebuilt, and a lot better.  I believe with Ben Sheets staying healthy and Gallardo pitching a whole season and underrated Villanueva in the rotation the Brewers can do it.  They also have Ryan Braun for a whole season, and hopefully Corey Hart can play the whole year as well.

I also said the Crew but I think it will be a very close N. L. Central  Brewers win 98 games the Cubs win 95 the Reds fade late in the season and win 83 games I think the Crew has better starting pitching. I think the offences between the Crew the Cubs and the Reds are close going in this order Cubs slight edge over the Crew then the Reds. Bullpens of the teams in the end will be key to whom wins between the Brewers and Cubs. Reds biggest question mark I would say is starting pitching.

I see the winner of the division winning 92 games with 2nd place being 2 games behind.  The Brewers have the best lineup in the division; they were the best last season and they got stronger with the addition of Mike Cameron and the AVG of Kendall.  This team is going to strike out a lot again though, but I don't think runs will be at a premium.  I think the bullpen is much improved, but not everybody sees it that way.  We will just have to let it play itself out.  We know the Cubs bullpen is great but both the Brewers and Cubs have some question marks in the rotation.

The Brewers will slug - you've gotta love their young talent.  Their starting pitching gives them more than a puncher's chance.  The questions are the defense and the bull pen.  Despite the moves they have made that effect those areas, they remain unanawered questions until the games count.  Eventually, I think the Cubs should win it.  But, the Brewers are dangerous.  Very dangerous.  They have to take last April and May and extend that over a full season.  All teams have to avoid injury, especially to pitching, so I will not harp on Ben Sheets, or the assumption that Gallardo knee will not become a year long problem.  Just remember that a pitching delivery is a delicately tuned series of motions.  A kid favoring a weakened joint may develop some bad habits leading to other injuries or lose command and confidence.  The sub .500 record post June last season may or may not be relevant to the '08 season.  The Brewers will show that they are for real and be in it to the end, I believe.  I just hope Melvin has no bullets in holster that can be traded for bullpen help come deadline.

If we're on the subject of injuries, then, let's not fail to mention Mark DeRosa's heart issue.  This is a lot more serious than it may sound.  Let's also not forget Soriano's broken finger that could very easily become an injury that nags all season long.  Finger injuries are no laughing matter when it comes to any player; especially a slugger like Soriano.

It's gonna be the Brews Fielder, Braun, Hart are all great hitters plus Ricky Weeks I think will bounce back and have a great year don't forget about Mike Cameron either he will be productive when he gets back from his 25 game suspension. IF Sheets can finally stay healthy for a whole year then we have it Can't wait to see what Gallardo is made of though.

Im obviously biased but the Cubbies have a good chance as well I just think in the end the Brews will be too strong this team can be scary if it hits on all cylinders.

Also It would not surprise me if the Reds jumped out in April-May to a early division lead like a few years ago but they will fade off and it will come down to the Cubs and the Brews the Reds don't have enough pitching in the end and im not buying their bullpen either they way over paid for Fransisco Cordero.

You are right ckrohn23.  The Brewers will win the NL Central by over 5 games.  They have a better lineup all the way through than any team in the NL Central.  They have a deeper bench, better starting pitching, and better bullpen.  The key is if everyone stays healthy for the full year and stays hot.  Prince Fielder and Ryan Braun will be fighting each other for the MVP this year.

I think the Central is pretty evenly matched from top to bottom.  I think the Brewers have the most talent and would love to see them win the central with 95-98 wins.  However, I think we could see a repeat from 2006 with the winner being a little over .500, around 85 wins.  The Central will beat up on each other.  It will be the team (Brewers) that wins outside the central.

Well if MLB08 The Show is any indication, the game's got the Brewers ranked 10th and the Cubs ranked 15th.
