Memphis has not beaten anyone since early January. They lost to Tennessee at home. so, I have conference USA rated at a 2, on a scale of 1-6...one being worst, and six being best. The way I see it, there are three 6 conferences this year --the Pack Ten, the ACC and the Big ten. Furthermore, all of the analysts say that Memphis will be the only teams from the conference in the NCAA tournament. That says it all
Bottom line --they do not deserve a one-seed. I have them as a 3 seed.

Actually, Memphis beat #22/#23 Gonzaga toward the end of January, less than a month before the Tennessee game. As for C-USA being a one-bid league, that might happen, but Joe Lunardi's current bracketology has UAB as #11 seed in the East, and just dropped Houston off the list (see "Last four out" in his bracketology) this week due to a loss to East Carolina by one point on the road.
But I do agree that you picked an appropriate screen name for yourself.

I agree with your analysis of C-USA but you can't deny the athletes and the coach of the Memphis Tigers are a number 1!

Someone please tell me why this Wisconsin fan keeps showing up on Memphis boards, much less posting threads on Memphis boards. You must live in Memphis and are considered a "Miserable" as Coach Cal would like to say. If you don't live in Memphis, I guarantee you haven't watched a single game b/c your garbage comments make no sense. Love us or hate us, we will be a #1 seed, and my money rides with the Tigers well before I throw it away on the Badgers.

The dork that started this post does not no nothing.... Memphis has beaten three top 25 teams this year...two from the big bad east too....Memphis has beaten Georgetown, Uconn and Gongz and lost by three to UT....yes conf USA is on the weak side but the Tigers deserve the overall no1 spot before NC, Duke or even UCLA....good luck guys and prove everybody wrong......

You guys can plan for a match with Wisconsin, but the real question is can Memphis run with a Carolina or UCLA type team. Tennessee was overrated for beating an overrated team. They certainly are not one of the elite. But now that Memphis has established a successful basketball program, they may need to raise their academic qualifications to be able to run more sophisticated plays.

many athletes that go to big name schools with high academic standards usually get put in the easiest classes that they can. Not every recruit that goes to duke has a 4.0 maybe not even 3 average

you obviously do not know what kind of offense memphis runs.... insert foot in the mouth cave man... its princeton..implemented by an ivy league school... fool... a number of cuts, back door cuts and constant motion. yes, there is isolation plays, but that is because we have superior ball handlers, superior speed and quickness. it works! we have only lost 1 game! we can handle UNC and UCLA, don't you worry about Memphis, just worry about your team getting out of the 1st round... we will take care of the 8, final four and Championship game...

Not sure if you've actually watched the Tigers play much. Playing UNC and UCLA is different. UNC is quick and a great offense. They don't play much defense as there are a number of teams to score over 80 on em. UCLA I think is a tougher match for the Tigers as they are an outstanding defensive team with excellent quickness. Memphis is great in transition and you can't be without great speed. There's probably not anyone in the country that is as fast WITH the ball as Derek Rose. Don't agree with this assessment at all.

You just look at the conference as a whole and see bad. But if you would look closer you would have seen CUSA schools have beaten many other out of conference schools and have held their own.

To me the ironic thing is that everyone knew that Memphis had a weak schedule after the New Year. Its no secret. Thats why Caliperi had us play one of the toughest non-conference schedules in the nation, and also scheduled Gonzaga and Tennessee in Jan/Feb.
It just kinda shows a little ignorance on the issue, when someone wants to suddenly chime in and tell Memphis fans that our conference sucks. YOU THINK WE DONT KNOW THIS? You think the team, the coaches, the fans, WANT to play these crap teams every night?
Of course not doofus. But like i said before, we knew this coming in to the season. So all we could do was win all of our games, and unfortunately we came really close to that goal (so far), other than the coin flip game against Tennessee. What more can you ask?
This guy is just a classic example of someone that is sick of seeing Memphis at the top of the rankings, because theyve never watched them play, and they know nothing about them. Honestly, its hard to get mad at Doofus, because thats just the way it is. There will always be people living somewhere a million miles away, that just get upset when they check the Top 25 once a week and continually see a Memphis on top.
We have to get used to it...and we have to just keep winning.

Yeah, it's funny how guys like him always want to down the Tigers. Nevermind that they have made the Elite Eight the last two years and receive a 1 and 2 seed respectively. It just seems like a constant lack of respect. I remember when the Tigers received the 1 seed two years back, and it seemed like none of the sports writers though they deserved it and actually felt that Oral Roberts would beat us and be the first 16 seed to beat a 1 seed. No respect at all. It's as if the Tigers haven't proven themselves. I feel like they definitely have...weak conference or not.
