The poll looks great to me, only one thing I would put Wisconsin in about the # 9 spot. They are a little better than everyone picks. I think UCLA is going to win it all though.

Yeah for some reason Parrish hasnt liked the badger ever since their last loss even thought that was nearly 4 weeks ago, he insists on keeping purdue ahead of wisconsin two despite purdue's multiple Bad losses.

No, it was not the first Purdue victory over Wisconsin, but the polls are not meant to take only head to head play into account. A poll is supposed to take a look at the entire season up until that point. It seems that Parrish does not appear to like anything that Wisconsin does in spite of their consistent winning while others are falling in front of them. I personally like Purdue, but they do have more bad losses that Wisconsin has. Wisconsin has lost four times, all to top 25 talent. Can Purdue match that? Can Georgetown match that? I won't even get into Georgetown, because I do not see how a team with so many close games that had a "beneficial" whistle go their way can stay in anyone's top 10 at this time. I would argue that Louisville should be higher than Georgetown because they are playing great basketball. Any ways, I meant no disrespect to any team. This is just one person's belief in the polls (and my opinion of it). Thankfully, the final tally will be made by numerous minds working together. This is a GREAT time of the year!
Go Badgers!

I like Purdue as well (well as much as a Badger fan can) so I dont really have a problem with them above WI. Coaches have Wisky at 9 above Georgetown so it is what it is. I think its fine, not sure why Texas who has one more loss than WI and just lost to an unrated Texas Tech is that high (except thier sos in at 3) but hopefully after the conferernce tourneys are done it will be right.

Yeah the badgers deserve much better than the number 12. they came into the week ranked 9 in the coaches and ap and then crushed michigan state this week. i have no idea how that moves us down. people are just hating on wisconsin. also people are so caught up with texas. there not that good. they have a good players but do not play well. wisconsin beat them on the road and now a loss to texas tech. i can't understand how their still ranked so high.

I agree that Wisconsin needs to be higher. They get no respect and play the best Defense in the country?? They beat Texas at their house. Texas lost to Texas Tech? That team is no better than the Penn States and Minnesota's in the Big Ten. Purdue is also alot better than they get credit for. Wisconsin is going to surprize in March - unless their seeding is so low that they don't get the same easy ride as top seeds do.

I agree that WS should be about #9 in the polls, but I also think they have a better chance at making a deep run than some of the teams ranked above them.
You have to figure they will be shipped to Omaha or Denver for the first 2 rounds, and after that each time I draw up a bracket they seem to face KU eventually, so depending on how you view KU (I think WS would win personally)....
Tomorrow is when the madness starts (Big South and Horizon tournaments), and I think it would be cool to have some surprise teams win their conf. tourneys.

The problem that guys like this have with wisconsin is that they just win games and that's it. they don't have a lot of highlight real material. They usually don't destroy opponents. And they don't get the greatest recruits in the country. hell, wis recruiting class this yr is only a little above average in the big ten alone. BUT Bo Ryan is a great coach and he gets the players he needs for his system to win games. That is why ever since ryan took over all of his wis teams have finished 4th or higher in the conference. guys that write these columns and do their own polls don't have enough knowledge of how wis bball works, so they only notice the things I mentioned earlier and down grade them for it.

Another problem with Wisconsin is that to non-Wisconsin fans, you look like choke artists. You guys had arguably the best team last year, and you folded down the stretch and lost early in the big dance. Hard to forget that stuff.

I don't see how anyone can complain about being ranked behind someone you lost to twice.

Yes, we had one of the best teams but then lost one of our best players to an elbow injury (Brian Butch). Without his presence in the middle we were only a top 20 team not a top 4 team.

They didn't play as well down the stretch, they didn't fold. We lost one of our best players to an elbow injury, but you conveniently "forgot" about that.
So what you are saying is that we should remember how well Nebraska did in football this year and hold that against them next year even if they have a top 5 team and only rank them number 11 or 12, yes?

I agree that Wisconsin deserves more respect. As a Stanford fan, I know what it feels like to be unnoticed...the Cardinal barely make any headlines. But all the same, I think its a great way to sneak up on people. We hear all about Duke, NC, Tenn, Kansas, UCLA, etc. all the time. But people will be shocked when a good defense with no highlight reels (Stanford, Bucky, and possibly Xavier) make a run in March.
UCLA vs. Stanford March 6 Pac-10 game of the year!

YOUR mistake IS the SAME as those who ARE voting the U of L Cards to BE the 13th best team in the nation. Anyone who has watched the Cards performance through the Big East schedule KNOWS they ARE a TOP 10 team, IF NOT top 5 (As they were voted prior to the start of the season) and anyone paired up against them in the Big Dance IS in a world of hurt. The BOTTOM LINE IS that there ISN'T a team in the SEC (Tennessee included), Big 10 (Wisconsin included), or ACC (Duke & NC included) who could play with the Cards on their best day, much less worse! We here in Louisville say "Let the games begin" so the pretenders can be weeded out & the CONTENDERS, of which U of L IS MOST DEFINITELY ONE, can show their stuff!! Go CARDS!

jvmatt,
Is that some kind of code? What's with the random capitals? I agree with a lot of what you wrote but it sure is hard to read. Wouldn't this be cool Louisville (Cardinals), Stanford (Cardinal) and Wisconsin (colors: cardinal and white) all in the final four? All we'd need is Ball St or Lamar to round out the field (yeah right).
I think that you could say that a lot of teams "on their best day" would be pretty unbeatable, let's just hope our favorites have their best days come tourney time.
GO BIG RED!!

I think Purdue may be ranked higher than Wisconsin because they beat them twice. After working out the kinks due to the ridiculously young squad, Purdue has been solid in Big Ten play.
