Because there's about to be a new fastest player in college football. Incoming Florida freshman Jeffrey Demps just ran a 10.01 in the 100 meters in Olympic qualifiers.

And he's only 17 folks! I just hope he sticks with football...

The best time of the day was a 9.77 by Tyson Gay.

LSU's Trindon Holliday will also be one of the runners to advance to tomorrow with a time of 10.09.

Thats just disgusting fast!  Im pretty fast, and I bet these guys could outrun me on a 50 yard dash if I had a 10 yard headstart.

Yeah, I don't think that TH needs to move over for anyone.  He is the man (Mr. Fast Man)!

Dern, a 9.97 and a 10.01 is fast guys.  I could probably hit a 10.01+ if I really tried.  LOL!

Geaux Tigers!

Demps will have to work a little harder. Trindon ran a  10.14 and Demps ran a 10.34 (I believe) in the Semifinals. Neither made the finals. Both guys are extremely fast for college athletes and deserve a lot of recognition for making it as far as they did. Good luck to both in the upcoming football season.
