Just because they are selling tickets doesn't mean they are making money. I have season tickets, and each ticket cost me 50 bucks (times 2 tickets times 10 games is about $1000, but only $800 this year since only 8 games are in Buffalo). My tickets are in the upper deck, 16th row, RIGHT ON THE 50! These seats are incredible for only 50 bux a piece. Any other stadium in the league and these EXACT same seats are going for around 80-90 dollars. Just compare the prices at the Ralph to the Toronto game prices, you will be amazed.
To compare, my tickets for the 8 Toronto games are 20th row, upper deck, IN THE CORNER. They cost me $85 per ticket, times 2 tickets times 8 games, that's $1400. So 8 games in Toronto cost me $400 more than 10 games in Buffalo, for seats that are 10 times worse.
That is how the Bills are losing money. Well that, and combined with the fact that they sell the private boxes for practically nothing.
For example, the Bills will sell a private box to a company in Buffalo for the season, for approx $200K. In any other stadium, that same private box is sold for about $1 million, or even $1.5 million. Now those are made up numbers, but because there are very little businesses in Western NY, and the ones that are there are small, Ralph Wilson cannot charge any more than he is.
Coporate spornsorship and the price of tickets is the reason why the Bills are losing money. The ONLY reason the Bills are still in Buffalo is the revenue sharing with the TV money. If that didn't exsit, the Bills would have been in LA a long time ago.
