I'm not the biggest Hockey fan in the world but I have been watching it all playoffs. I love watching Crosby and the Penguins. Don't get me wrong the Red Wings are fun to watch as well. I just think that to get America to watch hockey more that the Pens need to win.

I'm a Penquins fan and I'm hoping for a hard fought 6 or 7 game series with the Penguins coming out on top. That said I would be thrilled just to witness a great series for a change no matter who wins and put an end to this talk of the 33 year curse as well. That was the most stupid thing I ever heard. Detriot and Pittsburgh had nothing to sweat even though they both dropped Game 4s in their prospective series. I hope the officials get the calls right in this one and let both teams play their brand of hockey. I think we are in for a classic!!

As a Pens fan, I would like to see a sweep with like at least 5-0 in every game, that should shut some people up. I don't think it will happen but idealy that is what I would want to see.

This series could go seven but i dont think that it will. At most I see this series is going six but i have a feeling it wont go more then five. I know that the Pens are talented, have a great offense, but there is a difference between the Flyers and the Wings. The wings have more offense then the Pens have seen and the defense is tighter. And to stop the Wings top two lines your forwards have to play defense and until I see that, i am not sure that Malkin and Crosby are willing to play defense and work that hard to stop Pav and Hank. To stop the Wings top line you have to out work them and that takes a ton of work and effort. Hard to have your full legs under ya when you spend most the night chasing the Euro Twins.
The Wings get Franzen back and that gives the already deep Wings just one more dangerous player to deal with.
Malking, Hossa, and Crosby put up a great effort, but the Wings roll too many lines and defense is just too solid for these youngsters. Wings take it in 5

I disagree, I think that the forewards on the front two lines play D as well as any foreward can, there has been a lot of talk about that actueally, and they say Hossa is just as good on D as he is on O

I don't think any Detroit fans have actually WATCHED the Pens play in the playoffs! Detroit is by far the most talented team the Pens have faced both Offfensively AND Defensively, but the Pens have played Defense just as well and can roll 4 lines just as well as Detroit can. Look at the score sheet; the top lines have not been the only ones scoring; Staal, Roberts, Talbot, ect. have all contributed to their wins.
Especially with Crosby and Hossa, the have more than held up their own end on the Defensive side as well, so to rip on the Pens forwards 2 way play is just ridiculous.
To say Detroit will win in 5 shows no respect for what the Pens have accomploshed in the playoffs. I can see the Series going either way, but it should go to 6 or 7 games which, being a Pens fan here, the Pens will be victorious!

The penguins win in 6. This would be the best possible thing that could happen for the national hockey league and the city of Pittsburgh. Think of all the revenue the NHL will get. remember the New Year's Day game? The NHL couldn't have asked for anything better. Jerseys, shirts, hats, apparel sold like crazy. Regardless of what happens, the NHL and the hockey nation will benefit from this Stanley Cup Series. The future of the NHL is NOW.

The best thing for NHL is a Penguins victory? Are you serious? I understand that the league is pushing Crosby as the greatest player since Gretzky and the biggest name in sports since Tiger and Jordan, but even Jordan had his growing pains. How many times did Jordan have to get beat up before he dominated the NBA. The best thing for the NHL is having Crosby in the Finals I will agree with that, but I am not sure that giving the Cup to the kid is the best thing yet. Let him learn, take his growing pains and move on. Detroit has just as many star players that deserve the attention as Crosby, Zetterberg is just as good, a more complete player, and deserves just the same attention that Crosby gets from the Media.
This is going to be a good series, it very well could go 7 games but i just dont see it. The Pens are a good team, but its time to pay the dues and that means another year or two of growing and learning.
Detroit takes this series in 6, but i wouldnt be surprised if it ended in 5

No one is going to give the cup to Crosby, the Pens will earn the cup, by winning the finals, just like each series in the playoffs, they earned each win period. If Crosby lifts the cup, it will be because the Pens earned it, not a gift.

I agree with you... to a point. Yes, America needs to watch more Hockey, that is true without a doubt. But the Pens? I don't think they have the long term guts to finish it. They are talented yes but so are the wing and they have that intangible of experience. Wings in 6!
