Which race interests you more and why? Which one do you look forward to watching?

I grew up in the 50's and 60's following all forms of racing but my favorite event was the Indy 500.  NASCAR is designed to produce very close finishes and the "rubbin' is racing".  Back in the 60's in open wheel "rubbin' was dying" as I saw occur a couple times.  The speeds and precision required in open wheel is unmatched.  I'm not saying one is better, or more exciting, than the other.  The best race I ever saw live was the 2002 IRL in Chicagoland.  Sam Hornish won by .0054 and the top tem were all within 9/10ths of a second.  It wasn't just the finish but the last 25 hectiic laps that made it great.  It was the closest finish in IRL history.  I also saw the second closest at Kansas in 2004.   Just lucky, I guess.

Well, if I was going to be home then I would watch both races.  Although, I'm not an Indy Car fan per say, it is the Indy 500 and therefore it draws my interest a little more than other open wheel races.  But, being a NASCAR fan I will watch the 600 over the 500 but since I'm going to the 600 then I might be able to listen to the 500 while at the track.

But, I think Indy needs to go back to their old starting time so the Cup drivers can go for the 1100 mile run in one day.  I think it brough more attention to both races to see if a NASCAR driver could possibly win both races.

Nascar baby. Although like mikeyfan says, since it's Indy I will check it out, and I would love to see Danica win  it.

I do have a question for people that know a whole lot more about it than I do, how much do you think the traction control helps these cars?? It has to make a heck of a difference I think, just look at the speeds they're getting up to, even in the turns. I have to say again, I don't follow it a whole lot, so I could be way wrong here.

Sprint Cup. I don't find interest in the Indy car drivers nor do I know any, and you need a driver to root for, else the sport gets pretty boring fast.

Make that 1,300 miles of racing; don't forget the Monaco Grand Prix at 8am Eastern. "Go Lewis Hamilton!"

I'll be watching all three races and also following my 'soccer' team Leeds United "Go the Mighty Whites!" play at Wembley, England in the Division One play off final against Doncaster.

It's a shame Dario isn't racing at Lowes "Get well Dario!"; it would be cool if a Brit could have won in all three races!

I suppose the INDY 500 "Go Dan Wheldon!" would peak my interest a little more than the 600 because it's the best of the INDY season, it's like the Daytona 500 of INDY.

I will be watching both but the 500 is the only Indy car race I watch all year.  Hopefully the 600 will be better than the All Star race was.

I will definatly watch both.  I really wish someone was able to run the double this year.  Even though I always watch the Indy 500 I think for the first time in ages I am looking forward to it more than the 600.

With the young Rahal, Andretti and Danica all looking pretty good I would have to say INDY is back baby.

I will watch all of the Coke 600 and grab a little of the Indy 500. It starts way before I get out of bed on a Sunday.

I just hope it is a lot better than the All Star race.
