The guys Grandmother who raised him died and he needed more than a week to deal with it so the Bengals cut him?? Tye just waited two years for this cat to get back...

Not knowing what type of LB he is but seeing he had 5 INT's and led the team in tackles in 2005, is this a guy the Giants should take a shot on?  I think with a solid core of vets like the G-men have, I can see givining him a shot for the league minimum.  What do you guys think?  Would it be a good move or potential disaster?  My opinion, can't be any worse than signing Pacman Jones and the Cowgirls did that...

I think he has tro be on the radar ..the Giants have shown the willingness to take calculated risks..this would carry nowhere near as much publicity as the Pacman fiasco. ..This being said I have no real feel for this guys situation and I think it would come down to the face to face evaluation the Giants and any other potential suitors would have with the guy..He is a real player and he will get on somewhere ,but will he stay??

Interesting opportunity for any team to pick this guy up. If he was willing to play for a one year deal with very little guaranteed money to prove himself, I think I would take the chance to give this guy another chance.
Its pretty obvious he has the talent to play in the NFL from looking at his career to this point, even though a brief one. He will be playing somewhere soon.

uhm  honestly  this would be the 1 time I really dont care about off the field issues since plaxico

I feel the Giants wont take the risk

and  maybe we shouldnt since were very character/chemistry based/driven

but he does seem like a big talent  and if we can add another huge talent 2 the lbing core ( even though I think hes a mlb  he can probably play at other lbing positions)

I think the giants should look into it and feel him out

Ill trust them with wich ever way they go but they should at least look into it and give him an interview treat him as a potential draft pick basicaly  ..watch some tape   interview him  invite him in for a practice or something ( they usualy do this with free agents anyway)

The Giants should at least talk to him. Remember, we had LT and he was no saint. As a matter of fact, he may have set the bar for linebackers with extracurricular issues.

Odell Thuman's issues. . .he was busted for drunk driving with Chris Henry as a passenger. He was suspended. Upon returning from the suspension, he commenced VOLUNTARY workouts with the Bengals. His grandmother died and he failed to report back to voluntary workouts after a week. I'm sorry but that's not the reason he was cut. He was cut because they have Keith Rivers and need a spot for him. They didn't want to deal with Thurman anymore and this was an easy way out. And you wonder why the Bungles are in the position they are in.

I have not read anywhere that he is a distraction in the locker room, or a big mouth like ocho cinco. He has a lot of upside as a talented linebacker and I can only hope the Giants get him for a one year contract, league minimum with performance incentives and the potential to resign him to a larger contract the following year. He's potentially better than the two LBs we drafted. And to get him after what the Bengals did might elevate his play to show everyone what he can do.

I say yes, we could use him. But treat him like David Carr or Pacman and don't invest too much. I don't think we'll lose in this one.

hes worth a shot to look at. if they do sign him and he screws up again im sure there be some void out clause for the Giants like baseball uses.

A line backer that can intercept 5 passes in a year is worth a look. Talk to him, see if he is ready to play and most importantly turn his life around.

Personally, I think we should pass..  In my opinion, Gerris will be ready!  Thurman played 2 seasons, and it wasn't like he was as talented at his position as a PacMan or TO.  He's good, but I don't see the risk being worth the return at this point.

I THINK WE SHOULD SIGN HIM. WE NEED DEPTH AT LB AND HE SHOULD COME CHEAP.
