I guess Cojo got messed up watching Cabrera play first........man he is a terrible first-sacker. (I mean Cabrera...but Conor Jackson is no prize either.) One fan sitting near me jokingly said that Jackson lost the ball in the line. (The ball that he booted actually hit the foul line after it went over the bag.)

Any comment on Hudson's getting conned by Rodriguez on the attempted bunt. I have to admit, when Pudge missed the easy pop-up, I was confused.

Dr Strangeglove!  lol

You beat me to it and with a more apt description. Instead of watching Alice in Wonderland we have Conor in Wonderland. There is a phrase in Yiddish, "Oy Vey Iz Mir"  (Oh woe is me) and my entire body starts trembling when I see even a roller go his way.  We need a defensive 1st baseman to take his spot in late innings.

Give Ivan Rodriguez great credit. He outfoxed a greatplayer in Orlando Hudson and I'm sure Hudson is still kicking himself. Why they were bunting when a base hit would have almost guaranteed a run and Detroit's pitchers are the weakest in the American league, was a very bad call on Melvin's part. Especailly considering that Hudson is a very weak bunter.

So, what do I think...I think Kudos for a pro's pro in Rodrigues. His team struggling he showed leadership and a will to win and you take your hat off to him and move on. You orgive Hudson because Hudson is still a very classy player who will always regret being fooled like that and embarrassed but a little humility from time to time is good for all of us.

Hey Benjie - Just for your information, O-Dog didn't get the bunt sign from BoMel.  He was bunting on his own for a basehit, which was even worse.  Swing away Orlando.  We needed runs - RBI's.  Get it?
