It's just a question ... I don't have the answer. Jones is 31 and should be in the prime of his career. Instead, he's in the process of putting together back-to-back terrible years! During his first 10 years in the bigs he averaged .266, so he was never a great hitter, but for last year and the first 2 1/2 months of this year, his batting average has been a paltry .214, and for this year, it's just .176. He finally came around a little last year to finish with a respectable 26 homes and 94 RBI despite a .222 batting average, but this year he has just 2 homers. With numbers like that, maybe he should take up pitching! I thought maybe the Braves were making a mistake in not pursuing him last year as he became a free agent, but it sure looks now like they knew what they were doing. And the Dodgers are paying him over $14 million this year. Wow, I hope he snaps out of it. That's a lot of dough to pay to someone who's not hitting his weight, and not producing at all.
