No word on velocity, I'll keep listening and hopefully they say something.

Not a bad outing, the only thing I would like to hear about now is velocity.

Coming in to pitch is James Adkins

Thanks 16, 90 mph, not bad...its up from 88.  What would be great is in his next outing, he throws it to around 93...if he can.  I hope he can.

I like to see him pitch around 4 innings his next start average around a 91 mph fastball.  I'm trying not to put to much faith into Schmidt's comeback but with our rotation struggling right now we need something good to happen for a change.

Tremp,

Thanks for this thread! (a Five is headed your way.) This is one of the best aspects of the Dodgers board. I live in Seattle and would never be able to get this kind of access to minor league rehab work like this otherwise.

As for Jason Schmidt's velocity. Keep in mind that the team is not asking him (or really letting him) cut it loose at 100 percent yet. They're asking him to work on location and control while building his arm strength. With that in mind, that he's inching up from 88 to 90 mph is very encouraging. He'll have a few more rehab starts, but if he continues to progress like this, I see him being a big addition to the big league club's rotation. It will certainly solve that fifth starter problem.
