Okay i know that Dontrelle Willis went 6 IP . But for the record 96 pitches only 55 strikes and 41 balls. Walked 4 in 6 innings. So before everyone gets carried away with 6 IP and 5 hits and 1 ER lets recognize that he still did not have good control at AAA. On the positive side left hand power hitter Jeff Larish hit homers # 13 and 14 and has 37 RBI in 44 games. By the way don't we need lefties in the lineup.

Thanks for the update on Willis performance tonight adrian.  He is going to need to get his control together in order to be effective at the major league level.  I'm not feeling to good about Dontrelle right now!

Yes I see where mlb.com states he was effective tonight. Well I don't see those numbers as being effective. I think he should be throwing at least a two to strikes to ball ratio at AAA before he starts in Detroit. Nice to see the 7,8 and 9 guys Lopez, Crucetta and Jones get the job done.

It is completely true that Willis is having control problems. Ever since his first start I was somewhat worried if his control would be an issue and continuation from last year. I don't think the Tigers should be in an hurry to bring him back up. Galaragga is delivering in his first full MLB season and he is a reliable starter. Every time Willis toes the rubber their is always that uneasy feeling if he is going to blow the game. So in all if the tigers decide to call him up in say a week I say put him in the bullpen until he can prove that he throws strikes and is a strong starter.
