I just heard some bullsh..! Is it true the Blackhawks are trying to get that goalie from Ottawa? I think his name is Emery or something like that...Campbell looks like he will be a great addiction to this club.

I liked the team we had, but know we can always get better. That being said, there are several minor players that could be released. I definitely think the Hawks should make a strong effort to sign D Brian Campbell. I also think they should at least explore the possibility of signing Marian Hossa (if the Penguins dont lock him up that is). Could you imagine a second line of a healthy Havlat, Robert Lang and Hossa? I know Havlat seems to be to the hawks what Prior was to the Cubs, but I am still holding out hope that he can come back healthy. He played with Hossa in ottawa, so it would be a real good fit. Plus, Rocky Wirtz has already said he is going to do what it takes to put a winner on the ice, and signing these two would be a big step in that direction.

I am loving what the hawks have been doing the past year or so. Sorry to say, but the passing of the GM last year might have been the best thing for them. It allowed new owners to take over, and turn the team around by spending money.
In 2007, the Blackhawks were voted the worst team in sports... ouch...
Last year, the hawks were two games away from reaching the playoffs again, and they need to go out and pick up an another all star player. I strongly believe we need a goalie who can contribute game after game, even though the boulin wall had a good year last year, we can't rely on him to do it again. He has been our achilles heel since he came here. Release him, save money, and (if that rumor was true) pick up emery.
As for Hossa, i think he is a good player, and definitely did not seem to fit in Pittsburgh. I watched most of the games in the playoffs, and it always seemed like Hossa had chances, and never contributed. I don't know how well he would fit with the Hawks. If we can go out and get a young phenom, it would fit better in the hawks lineup. I don't know who, but i know he has to fit into the young/fast system.

Where do you see Ladd fitting in next year? Does he have a chance to play a regular shift along with Towes and Kane, or is he more likely to be a third line player? He is a former 4th overall, is 100% healthy, and was a pt per game player at the end of the year. Could he breakout in 08-09? Interested in your thoughts.

I would probably start with Havlat. Then the Hawks signed a goalie out of Finland so see ya Khababulin. Go and get Hossa and Campbell. If not Hossa, then the Pens will be looking to get rid of Malkin.

well Borque is now a Flame. Koci is on the Lightning and Perrault is teamless.
The latest rumor is a three way trade with the hawks getting Anze Kopitar from the Los Angeles Kings and sending Khabibulin and either Calder or Seabrook to Ottawa and the Kings getting Gerber and Meszaros. I doubt this will happen, but Kopitar is a scorer and I would rather it be Calder than Seabrook if it were to happen.
I have to say, I kind of like the current roster tho | |
