As a lifelong Reds fan and a life long Ohio resident sometimes I take it for granted most of you that post on these boards are probably living in Ohio. I make an assumption most of you are from central Ohio south, central Kentucky north, mid-Indiana west and maybe a good portion of West Virginia. However, in just the last couple of days I've noticed Chicago, Erie, PA, Florida, and even as far as Los Angeles? It wasn't that I was naive to the fact you were out there, I just hadn't figured so many of you were posting and also being so knowledgeable to not only the current Reds teams, but also have such a grasp of Reds history. So, first I'd like to offer kudos to all of you and then thanks for continuing to participate and your continuing undying support of our beloved Reds.
As I said I am a life long resident of the great Buckeye state of Ohio. I was born and raised in the quiet little village of Republic in the North Central/North Western area of Ohio (population: 583 Salute! (Hee-Haw reference for you youngins, OK, OK, look it up its probably on the internet somewhere) amongst a hoard of Indian's fans (luckily my Dad had the intelligence to raise me properly as a Reds fan). Republic is for any interested about 1 1/2 hours due north of Columbus. I currently reside in Dublin, a suburb of Columbus, Ohio (as you can see I've been inching my self South, I think I'm being drawn to the heart of our glorious kingdom).
What I'd like to see is where all of you are from. Please post where you were born and where you live currently. It would even be nice to see if you were a lifelong Reds fan or a convert. And why you are a Reds fan (i.e.: like my Dad raised me to be one and i just don't know any better.) Hope, you all respond.
Also add to the poll if you could. This was an after thought, I'm looking for approximate number of miles away the GABP.

i was born in louisville, and that's my permanent home really. however, for the last 8 months i have been living in spain. could you guys tell that i haven't actually seen a single inning of Reds baseball so far this year? or any baseball for that matter. you are probably saying, "that explains a lot" (it's ok i can take some ragging).
i will be back at the start of june, and i can't wait to be able to watch the reds and all the baseball i can (at least as much as my girlfriend will let me get away with). being such a big baseball fan, the withdrawal is tough, but these boards have made the absence much more palatable, so thanks for the intelligent posts and discussions guys.
so i suppose presently, i am some 3000 miles from GABP, but usually i'm within 150 miles, so that's how i answered.

Born in Dayton ohio in 65' lived there till 1982, moved to Fla. 82', 83': Army, La. 84'-86': Back to Fla 86'-06', Now in Jasper, GA. about an hour north of Atlanta. Grew up with the Reds, and the Big Red Machine. Sorry about that younger folks, probably don't remember that team much, nor the 90 Reds for that matter. That was a baseball era for me and my dad. I had already began playing ball, and listened to Marty and Joe on the radio with my Grandfather. They weren't on TV a whole lot then. Though I have lived in Florida and now in Georgia. The Reds will always be my team.

jzinger... Its funny how something you read can bring back a memory, it gave me chills and goosebumps reading your post. For some reason it made me think of my past and my Reds memories. I can remember 1 year in elementary school I got this cool new watch. The watch had a radio in it (OK well I thought it was cool back then) I would run an ear piece up my sleeve to my ear and tune in the Reds broadcast on 700 WLW whenever they had a business day special on in the afternoon. The hardest thing I had to do was not cheer when one of the Reds would hit a homer or made a great play! That was in the early '80's sometime (long, long ago)

Hopefully the "Administrator" won't delete my post.
I was born in Lexinton, KY, 1969, grew up in Richmond, KY. Grew up a Reds fan. Always will be a Reds fan. Lots of memories. Went to a few games as a kid but mostly followed on TV. I moved to Florida after college, Tampa area, in 1993. Started getting the MLB sportspackage through cable 3 years ago so I can see the games. Nothing better! My family now lives just outside Cincy. I will be coming up for the Sat. game agains the Braves end of the month. What's with the 3:55 start times this year?

Where I come from doesn't really exist now but a lot of people from the Cincy area go boating there at Brookville Lake. I come from the town that was flooded.
I have an historical Website that recovers the story of the town.
If you are interested in that, send me a P.M.
I live in Northwest Indiana, shadow of Chicago and find myself a fairly lone ranger in Reds rooting.
