OK, it's a stretch for all this to fall into place, but if the Reds sweep the Tribal Blunder, there's a chance we will be in 4th place by the end of the weekend.

After that, the Brewers get sucked up our tailpipe.

No great shakes, that, but the next challenge is to catch the Birds and the Astronauts.

OK, now ... let's do that big group hug and get out there and root for the team!

Tell your old Aunt Hattie,
This year it's Cincinnati
What a team, what a team, what a team!

the only race they need to be runnin... is the race to start a litter of youngins.... To quote Granny from the TV show, Squidbillies. I am pumped about this 4 game run. Might I add started around the same time we started getting positive on this board instead of asking for Corey Pattersons head. Let's keep it positive.

I get to see the Reds in person for the first time this year on Monday and Wednesday here in LA versus the Dodgers. Cant wait. Checking out the Dodgers and Angels game tomorrow for my first baseball game in person of the season. Should be a good do.

The Reds are going to see 2 ELITE pitchers in the next two days, not a good time for us to hit like we did tonight. But we CAN do it. I would love to hang a 6 spot on Cliff Lee's ERA on Sunday. But I will totally settle for a series win. Lets keep it up.

After the Indians we get the Dodgers, Padres, and Pirates. That sets up nicely for us to make up some ground.

I understand your dislike for the negativity that is seen on these boards, and I agree that being positive is the best way to go. But there comes a certain point that blind faith in players to achieve something they have NEVER done in their careers can't be tolerated. I love what Jerry Hairston is doing right now, but I don't expect him to keep it up, just as we couldn't expect Corey Patterson to keep up what he did early in the season.

I say platoon Freel and Hairston in CF until Jay Bruce improves his plate discipline, or whatever Jocketty and the rest of our management have to tell themselves he has to improve. He could hit 100 points lower up here than he is down there and still be an improvement.

Enough with that. 4 game winning streak! I have a little doubt in tomorrow's game; mainly because we've only shown Aaron Harang decent run support once, and he's going up against a pitcher in Fausto Carmona with a nasty nasty sinker. We all know how that goes. But as long as Edinson Volquez is his normal unbelieveably dominant self on Sunday, that game could be 0-0 going into the 10th.

As much as I clamored for Homer Bailey to be brought up before, he has shown he's not quite ready yet. He's walked much more batters as of late and walked 6 in 5 IP in his start today (or yesterday, if you want to get technical). He must improve on that before he gets the call. If he doesn't I could see Jeremy Affeldt getting a couple starts, which would be unfortunate because he's been dynamite out of the bullpen.

to be honest guys, i wouldn't mind if Homer Bailey spends most of the year in the minors.  it sure seems like he has maturity issues (for lack of a better way to put it).  and his control is really what bit him in the ass in his stint last year.  unlike Jay Bruce, i think he does still have a few things to learn down on the farm.  we don't need to rush him up here, that's my humble opinion.  the time he spent here last year didn't help him, and we don't need a repeat of that.

If we win today the climb out of the basement could be official.  Of course, the Reds have to start winning on the road if we are going to make a serious run.  Our road record is horrible right now.  It would be awesome to catch the Brewers soon!

Of course, the Reds are going nowhere if they can't give Harang at least two runs.

He's got to be so frustrated with our hitters. SSDD. Hopefully we can get Carmona out of the game, we just can't get anything going off him. But that won't happen because our hitters swing early and often, even though Carmona has walked 35 batters compared to 18 strikeouts coming into today. Did they get the scouting report on him?
