	I agree. His career stats are pretty impressive. Plus - He was the ace of a Houston Astros staff that included Roger Clemens and Andy Pettitte.

	Not disagreeing with your point about Oswalt, but Aaron Harang wins the most under-rated pitcher in MLB award in my book. Damn....Stole my thunder on this one.....

	Maybe its more of a perception that he's underrated because he's gotten off to a shaky start this season. However over the past 5 years his name should be brought up when discussing the best 5-10 starting pitchers over the past decade. I've never heard a bad thing said about Oswalt from fans, players or media...that says alot.

	His career numbers are good, however this seasons numbers are not. In tonight's game alone he has given up 4 earned runs in under two innings and now has an ERA of 5.52. I think you jinxed him with this thread...

	This is ridiculous. He's one of a very elite group of players considered a true ace. He's not underrated at all (especially given his heinous ERA this year). But he's not a Johan Santana or Jake Peavy. If you don't strike guys out, your a step behind. Those guys take 3 innings out of a game just because of K's. Thats important, and Oswalt doesn't do it. But he is an ace, no one ever denied that.

	Up unti;l this year maybe, but this year he is getting tossed around. His numbers aren't even close to what the top guys are. Granted, Houston isn't the best team this year, and maybe he is a bit off. A good comeback by Oswalt may make me change my mind.

	Easy guys. Oswalt is a ridiculously slow starter, and has been his whole career. It's almost like he thinks the season doesn't start until July. Post All-Star, he may well THE best record, period.
