pitcher in baseball. Is it because he doesn't strike out hitters like Jake Peavy, Cole Hamels, Johan Santana, etc. does? The guy deserves more respect. His career stats speaks for it self. He is just as good as Santana, Webb, Peavy, Beckett, etc.
Infact, if you look at his stats, his career numbers are better than any of the pitchers that I just mentioned here.

I couldn't agree more Panthers. I've never seen a pitcher as underrated as this guy except maybe for Aaron Harang.
Oswalt is definitely the most underrated pitcher in baseball, and yes, he is just as good as Peavy, Santana, Webb and Beckett.
I just don't understand why this guy never gets any love.

I know he's been consistently dominant throughout his entire career, but a guy with an ERA over 5 this year can't fall into the "overrated" category. Until he brings it down into the low 4's and 3's then I'm going to have to go with Aaron Harang, partly because I'm a Reds homer, and partly because it's true.

Rhc, you already know that he'll at least bring his ERA down to the mid 3s. That's how good this guy is. I've never seen a pitcher as underrated as Oswalt is. His career stats says it all.

His K numbers have been going down the last few years, but from everything I read and hear, he's been considered one of the best pitchers in the majors for a while.
He's "rated" correctly as far as I'm concerned, a bonafide ace.
