I just read on newyorkmets.com that randolph was named as one of the coaches in this years all-start game.  Does anybody know how they determine the coaching staff?  I dont see how he deserves it.  He coached a team to the biggest collapse in baseball history last year and this year he is coaching a team filled with all-stars to a .500 record.

I know the head coaches are based off of the world series teams from the prior year. I think that the head coaches then choose their staff but im not 100% sure

Randolph was probably picked because the All Star game will be in NY. The All Star manager picks his coaches.

Nice that he can coach in Yankee Stadium one last time (after this weekend, anyway).

My personal request is that he not be allowed to make the pitching changes.


Actually, he can be the one to walk out to the mound.  But it has to be someone else's decision who and when.
