Nope, Frady, I'm saying NASCAR pushed the votes from Saddler to his teammate, Khane because Junior endorsed Saddler and he was out of the running.  Anything to appease Junior Nation.  There is no way someone can say the Bud crowd went with Kasey not when Junior went with Saddler.  I know Kasey is popular but not so popular that he will cause Junior nation to vote for him over his teammate.  In all actually, I was hoping either Elliott would make it in the finals via a 1st or 2nd or wreck out,  That way Mikey would have a good chance to make the race.  And if one read NASCAR.com during the week you saw where it was close between, Elliott, Mikey, and Vickers, Kasey was nowhere mentioned.

But then if you don't post the votes I guess you can say whoever you want won the vote can't you.

Mikey, when Kahne won the popular vote it did not surprise me one bit. Many of the voters are females and just who do you think they are going to vote for? That`s right, there are millions of female Kahne fans so it doesn`t surprise me one bit to see that he won.

A lot of those female fans that you mentioned are also Junior fans too!  Again, I have no problems with Kasey and the fact that he won showed he deserved the shot, what I question is why all week they vote was down to 3 drivers then the last minute Kasey comes from nowhere to win.  Do you really believe that Junior Nation didn't have Elliott up there and yes, I realize that they would have gone to number 2 if Elliott was number 1.  But, and its a big but,  If Kasey would have been close then his name would have been listed with Mikey, and Brian wouldn't you think?  I just wanted to see if anyone else had the same thoughts as I did.  That NASCAR tried to play to the "NATION" by picking Kahne, Saddlers teammate.

Mikey,

You must lay in bed at night and toss and turn at the thoughts running through your head of how NASCAR will appease Junior Nation next. I mean come on dude, give me a break. NASCAR heard Jr endorse Elliott to get in on fan vote, so when he crashed, NASCAR moved all of the 19's votes over to Kasey to make Jr fans happy? Do you know how stupid you sound by even bringing this up????

I saw on another post that you said that maybe Mikey thought he would get in on the fan vote, so he backed off. My friend, I know you watch the races every week, and Mikey backing off is unheard off, for the simple fact that you must be goin fast in the first place to back off.

Get a grip dude.

Mikey, what if Jr had said Ragan had a good run in the open, everyone vote for him? Do you think he would have made it in because Jr asked everyone to? I just want to know how far you think the Jr Nation will go.

Well, lets see how far the Nation will go, 1.  Last year Junior asked for Kenny Wallace to make the chase,  Guess who go the fan vote?  Yes it was Kenny Wallace,  The previous year it was Kenny Schrader, once again Schrader was the top vote getter, so I'm telling you the people do follow the voice of Junior, and as for ghost rider, yes, I believe that NASCAR moved votes from the 19 to the 9 and tabbed kasey as the alternate because Junior endorsed his teammate.  All, records point to that,  Again, I based my claim that all week the vote, according to NASCAR.com was down to Elliott, Vickers, and Mikey.  Did Mikey deserve to be in the race, not the way he raced,  but if, and I say if he backed off, and yes he did back off the last 3 laps of the race, to save his car for the main event because he had indications that he was the second vote getter, then he was screwed by NASCAR.

I'm not so blind that I look at things through rosed colored glasses.  This is an exhibition and most of the fans in the stands are Junior fans,  I have no problem with that, and if NASCAR wanted to appease them then come out and ask Junior who he endorses and have him list them in order,  That way we know who the fan, or Junior vote goes to.

And for anyone to say that Kasey is in the top 5 of popularity, look again,  the voting for the most popular driver the past few years has been:

1. Junior

2. Mikey

3. Jeff Gordon

4. Tony Stewart

5. Jimmy Johnson with Mark Martin close behind JJ.

Sorry to break the news but Mikey is a very popular driver among the fans and yes he has more fans than Kasey does.  I guess everyone likes an individual that can joke about his career and how little success he has had, even if that little success has made him a multi-millionaire.

Well even though the fan favorite won, I still don't think they should have it. This is an All-Star event that requires you to win a race to get in. Now they have a fan favorite voted in, plus the guy who finishes second in the showdown. I don't like either of those, if you are going to let the "first loser" in, then anyone who finished 2nd in the last two years should be eligible as well. They also need to change the lineup for the Showdown from anyone in the top 50, to anyone in the top35. Three drivers in the showdown have not made a race this year, two of them didn't make a race last year. Now, what would happen if one of them got lucky and won the showdown, then in another stroke of luck won the All-Star race. They would be automatically in it for the next 10 years. Yea, I know, I'm repeating everything I said in my blog.

On a side note, I didn't like the format for the burnout competition. The guy who does a burnout for the shortest amount of time wins? I think fans want to see long burnouts. It should be based on style, not time.

As of Friday I heard that the vote was close between Robby Gordon, Kahne, Sadler, Kenny Wallace, and Michael Waltrip. Kahne didn't exactly come out of nowhere.

With the mixture of people who drink Budweiser and females aged 30-55, there was no way Kasey was going to lose the fan vote.

They also need to change the lineup for the Showdown from anyone in the top 50, to anyone in the top35.
I don't disagree on the top 50 part, but if you limit it to just the top 35 then a few good cars would be out. The 2 that advanced this year are out of the top 35. In my comment on your blog I said maybe they should limit it to teams who attempted at least 25 races the year before or all of the current years. I still think maybe that should be the rule. That would take out the Long's and Barrett's, while still giving the Blaney's and Allmendinger's of the series(whose teams have put in as much work as the top 35 teams) a chance to transfer into the big show.
