I created a blog about the All-Star race, what I think is good, and some things I don't like. Let me know what you think of the All-Star race, feel free to disagree with any of my opinions if you like.

Kyle 'Rowdy' Busch is on the pole and I can guarantee it will be tough to pass him.  He was by far the fastest in qualifying Friday night.  Charlotte is such a fun track and to all those attending this year - enjoy and have fun.

Well I like the race but I think it should be a little longer and no break in the race.   But I would rather goto the 600!

I thought it was 70 laps but just read 100laps(4  25 lap segments) with breaks and pit stops.  I just dont like the breaks and mandatory pit stops.

I agree that it should be longer but it will be great to see DJ race one more time.

Before I went to the All Star last year, I too thought it should be longer.  After being there, I have changed my mind.  The length, segments and breaks are perfect.  OK it might not be as much fun if you are at home sitting on the couch but for those that are there, the format is perfect.  Fans tend to lose sight that it's the fans in the seats are the the priority for any track.   I went to the Coke 600 last year as well.  Unless I get a stainless steel butt implant, I will never pay money to do that again.

I love the Allstar race being at Charlotte cause its close to home but I agree let them switch it up with certain other tracks. A Bristol or Richmond Allstar race would be an all out war a demolition derby if you will. That being said I wouldn't want to see the race on certain tracks. I also like them adding the burnout competition

They tried switching it up and it sucked.   Tabasco is absolutely right.  It would only be good at a couple other tracks.  And since you can't tell the other tracks they couldn't have it, leave it alone. The race belongs in Charlotte and if I was Humpy, the first thing I would do this morning is rename it to the NASCAR Hall of Fame All Star race and tie it to the NASCAR Hall induction for next year and every year after just to make sure it never moves.

I think there are too long of breaks.  It is a snooze fest to watch on tv.  I went to 1 allstar race and it was more entertaining to be there than to watch on the tube.  It takes a long time to run and all you see are commercials and nonsense.  I think if they had shorter breaks and change track locations every year it would be a little more fun to watch.  Having a long sat. night watching the Allstar and then follow it the next week with the longest race of the year at the same track has never really made much sense to me.  Change tracks every year,  have a short track for a million bucks on the schedule and the racing will get pretty exciting.

Some highlights that I thought made it a good show was Jarrett driving the "big brown truck", Kyle Busch blowing up and Kahne winning with no tires. The only thing I missed was the inversion which I kind of like because it keeps everyone on their toes. They need to bring that back for sure. Congrats Kasey!!!!
