cut and paste

The Kings could have a potential trade partner for the services of Ron Artest if recent comments by new Dallas coach Rick Carlisle are any indication. The Sacramento Bee reports that not only would Carlisle welcome the chance to coach Artest again, but the Kings could have interest in Mavs small forward Josh Howard under the right circumstances. "(Artest) is one of the real difference-makers that we have in this league," Carlisle said. "He's had one all-star year; that's when he played for me. I've had a chance to reconnect with Ronnie a couple times over the last couple of years. I love him and I love his family, so yeah. This guy was one of the most physical, intimidating players that I've ever seen at the small forward position, so he'd be a player that any team would want to have."

I know I have said many great things about Ron Artest, but I actually really like this trade. We get a little younger and a real go to guy with all star potential. What do you guys think about this?

Cutlerfan -  I live in Dallas and have been here since 2001 so I have be able to see Josh Howard play on numerous occasions. I would say that this would be a bad deal for the Kings, we dont want to get rid or one head ache to gain a bigger one in a Pot head. I think Artest knows that the Kings are going up and after the last 2 seaons in Dallas they are on their way downward. He wants to be on a playoff team and the this up coming season it may be the Kings and the Mavs fighting for that 8th spot or even that 7th spot. Josh Howard is no where to be found the last 2 years in the playoffs, yes he has great talent but after all that has happened to him and all the mess he put himself in. I would say NO to the trade, but we will see what happens.

Let me know if you think different?

I definately am not thrilled about him being a pot head, but Ron has also had his share of off court issues including being suspended for 7 games last year. The reason I like this trade is that they are both similar players, but Ron has been more injury prone lately.  He will also try to force things and take ridiculous shots-making some-but missing a lot as well. Josh Howard seems to always take good shots and not force the issue and plays within his abilities. However, if we keep Artest I will still be happy, but if we do trade him then we need to get great value for him.

This is actually the best offer we have gotten in a long time for Artest. However, if we did aquire Josh Howard, that would limit our cap flexibility, especially if we really are going to rebuild.

Good idea Ron Artest has a couple more good years left but then we hae to give him a big contract and Josh Howard is in his prime.

we would be crazy to not trade Artest for Howard.  Howard is younger and would be a nice addition alongside Kevin Martin.  Our team would improve greatly on the offensive end and Howard will be an all-star in the next few years.  Howard just needs a change of environment and he will blossom.  I really enjoy watching Artest play but I would rather have a player who smokes pot than one who assaults his wife and fans.

Josh Howard for RA, not a bad deal for King. You should like it as a King fan

Better future, If he play with the right coach, He could be one of best player.

i'd do the trade in a heartbeat. Artest is a good player, but getting a younger Howard who has loads of talent will make the Kings a better team. i don't think howard has reached his potential. he'll be an allstar before long.

This proposed deal ia all but gift rapped for both teams maybe it will be a straight up trade or maybe a few more pieces will be involved but nonetheless it sounds good for both Clubs.
