He forgot he owed them 400K?

I wish I had his problems too.  We have to worry about trying to keep gas in our cars and food on the table for our families and these players can fork out $440,000 easily.  How do you forget about a $400,000 debt?  There is something fishy about this story.

I don't think I ever realized how jealous and bitter sports fans really are toward the athletes and former athletes. The guy admitted he owed it, admitted it was his fault that it went so long and has every intention of paying it. He never said he forgot that he OWED  the money. He said he let the time get away from him. I'm sure none of you haters has ever missed a deadline or been late to something your boss or you wife thought was important because you lost track of time.

Get over it. I think players are over-paid and babied to much. But they're the ones that make the game what it is. We get mad when they go on strike, but secretly we all just wish the owners would just meet their demands so we could get back to watching the game. Quit dogging him just because your life isn't what you wish it were.

If he didn't "forget", then why didn't he just pay it? The only other answer is- he purposely choose not to pay it, or thought it would just "go away"...It would be one thing if he didn't have the money, but we all know he does have the money- unless he's gambled all his money away, which is a possibility.

 btw- I'm not a hater of Charles, I actually like him.
