Down 6-0 at one point, the Astros rallied to win the game 8-7 off a Berkman BLAST that splashed into McCovey Cove. Not only was it another come-from-behind victory, but it vaulted us into second place in the NL Central behind the Cubs, who are coming to Minute Maid next week for a three-game set.

Man, what a game! Now we are 6-1 on this roadtrip, with three more coming against the Rangers in Dallas. Time to get back the Silver Boot!

Can't say enough about Lance Berkman. Darren Erstad showed up in a major way also. Wow.... this game was as good as itn gets. I hope we smoke Texas as these late inning rallies are kill'in me !

Man, how fun is this!! Lance is .. well, amazing, as usual. But check out what the rest of the line-up did with Miggy taking the day off (slacker). Kaz heating up, Hunter and Carlosgetting steady and some nice pich hits from Brad and Darren. I don't want to jinx it, but there seems to be some special chemistry developing Reminds me of Bill Doran, Enos Cabell and Jose Cruuuuuuuz with Mike Scott and Charlie (am I going to hit you or not) Kerfield in the early 80's. Just a lot of fun to be a part of. Thank you Ed Wade.

GO Astros!!

You can never give up on these guys. These late inning comebacks are wearing me out also. If we could just get Bourn to snap out of it and Towles to bring up the rear of the order maybe we could put some of these teams out of the game by the fifth inning.

GO Astros- NICE JOB!

I totally agree with you Kansas.  We need to get on top early and stay on top with the Rangers.

And all I know is this, if we were losing by two runs last year after 6 innings I was changing the channel to Family Guy to brighten my crushed spirits.  Now I watch the entire game, as they proved today, down by 6, no problem.  Like you said Kansas, these late inning rallies are gut renching.

Late inning rallies wearing one us out? Killing another of us? Are you guys kidding me?! I hope they continue all year long! Heh. COME ON, ASTRO FANS. No one said Major League Baseball was gonna be easy.

Besides, we DID kinda win 7-1 and 5-0 over the Dodgers on Friday and Saturday. HOW SOON WE FORGET.

This team is capable of winning easy and winning hard. WINNING ALL WHICH WAYS. That's the real beauty part.

Blow 'em out, squeak 'em out, RALLY 'em out.... I don't care how we win.

Just win, baby.

Honestly, I was looking to lose this game because of Lincecum was the pitcher.  Man what a come back.  The game that we lost to Matt Cain.  I could have sworn that we were going to come back and win in the 7th or the 8th but that never happened.  Cain killed us through 8 innings and we made several mistakes in the first inning that led to 3 runs.  Because of the early lead, Cain is on top of his game whenever that happens.  Anyways, Astros this year has been amazing and I'm looking forward to more come back this year :-)

Late inning rallies wearing one us out?
Do I think they make good games sure, but it still plays with a fan's emotions.  And even worse, it's going to either wear down the bullpen or make them stronger.  Hopefully the later.  Our starting staff is 11-11, 25th in MLB.  Our bullpen?  13-7, 1st in the MLB.  But this bullpen strength can be deceptive.  See during this run of 17-5 we've had stellar defense.  In fact starting this week we were 2nd in MLB in defense.  This week we commited so many errors that our defense plummeted all the way down to 9th.  Luckily our offense has continued to explode.  Can both the bullpen (which was the subject of mediocrity at the begining of the season) and the offense  keep it up?

I'm not trying to be negative, just trying to keep the Astro Nation down to earth in our thinking that late innings comebacks are healthy.  It puts a lot of pressure on the bullpen.  But wow, watching our boys come back sure is better than watching them lose.
