I know alot of Mets fans are extremly fustrated once again after losing 1-0 too DC....

But too me its all about Delgado... we need a guy playing 1st thats either going to get on base or produce runs... he does neither

its true he conects once or twice every too weeks and its like oh maybe he will start hitting... he wont the bat speed is gone he is old.... he wont be conistent... and wee need to dosomething...

he is my only fear with the lineup and the team...

I say toss Tatis at 1st see what he can do.. bascially see if he can hit some balls out the park... maybe try alou.. ...

the problem wih trading is u need a team willing......... right now not many teams going to trade their 1st.............

I would hope the rocks keep losing maybe fall 15-20 out of1st and they give us Helton.. his power #s aint there buit he will still hit...... the only other team i think would be Sea and Sexson.......... but i dont know he Ks too much and for that we prob can stay with delgado.......

so i say toss out tatis at 1st...... hope the rocks lose even more n willing to give up helton..... bring up a kid........other then that who knows

but he is the question and somethign needs to be done

Omar can toss away $2Million for Sosa, unless some team wants the rest of Delgago's contract he is going to play firstbase.

The guy is starting to turn a corner and getting on base.  One bad game and he is booed.  No one has ever had a 162 game hitting streak.  Ease of the throttle let him play.  Afterall, Reyes has been crap all year Schnider, Alou and Castillo have been hurt, Beltran finally woke up, Wright has been inconsistent and Church has been the offensive MVP.  This is a team effort, no need to attack one player in the lineup.

Everybody needs to face the fact that we are stuck with Delgado for the remainder of the year.  What team would trade for him?  First, he's stunk all year and second, his salary is enormous to take on.  The Mets are not going to bench somebody making $16mil this year and we have nobody to take his place.

How the heck do we lose 3 out of 4 to the stinking Nationals.  This team is down right pathetic right now!!!!!

can we trade our manager? lol .not for nothing guys but when a team is underperforming ,when players look like they play 1 game and then go through the motions for the next 3 games ,when our pitchers like heilman and sanchez and every pitcher throws a fastball 88 to 91 miles per hr you are left to question what the heck is going on here NO PRIDE nothing.the season is young yes i know but i am not asking to win every game all i am asking is to give a hundred percent when they step in between the lines .Damn that is not hard to do we are talking professionals here .If the Mets continue there lack luster play Management has to go i do not care even the great pitching coach that seems to throw out all our pitchers arms. Damn even santana is throwing slower than he did last year .WHERES our bullpen? our starters have to pitch 8 innings because our great 87 to 91 mile per hour our bullpen cant pitch.for this i blame minaya thinking sanchez will be fully recover WRONG .The mets need a change better sooner  then later they need someone thats has balls to say this lackluster play is unacceptable.

Could not have put that better. It is management causing our grief. There are reasons why Castillo and Wright are not running out fly balls; why Reyes continues to play like a knucklehead; why Wagner is the defacto spokesman; why our bullpen continues to nibble at the zone instead of challenging; and, even, why these shmos continue to come to the plate and bluff bunt - what is that and when did it become ok to waste the first pitch or two on bluffing bunt. Ditch Omar, Willy, Peterson, the whole bunch. Bring in someone with some hair.

Omar had made good moves.  Think back to the days of Phillips and Duquette....

How can you say ditch Peterson???  The guy is known as the MLB PITCHING GURU!  He's the best.  The only other guy in his league is probably Mazzone.  Don't take out Willie's incompetance on the rest of the staff.

I think the point is that if you're gonna get rid of Willie (which I don't necessarily agree with at this point), you have to ditch the whole staff.  Peterson & Mazzone may be the best pitching coaches baseball, that doesn't really matter.  You need to bring in a manager who then brings in his guys.  If you simply get rid of Willie & not the rest of the staff, regardless of how good they are, then you're just doing a quick fix - that's not enough.

I agree that Omar has made some good moves, especially when you compare him to Phillips & Duquette.  But Omar is a bit of a control freak.  I could see Willie getting the axe, & then Omar stepping in & saying, "but I want to keep Peterson," or "I want to keep Alomar," or whatever.  That would be pointless.  If a change is going to be made, it needs to be a wholesale change & it needs to be someone from outside the organization - with his own staff, or we're back to square one.

It's easy to point a finger at some of Omar's moves or to question Willie's low key approach to managing but the blame for this teams lack of success and apathetic approach must fall squarely on the players. The notion that they need to be better motivated to perform is ridiculous. The Wilpons have signed all the big checks, Omar has made more good moves than bad ones & Willie has a strong grasp of the game. What more could any player want? They have a supportive front office, a manager who always has their backs & they make major $$$.

How can anyone seriously believe that getting rid of Willie is going to solve the sleepwalking sickness that's affecting this team. These players need to look in the mirror and live up to the talent that they all have. The lack of effort by some of our "stars" is unbelievably hard to watch at times. Just two years ago in 06' when this team was down by a run or two in the ninth, you would NEVER leave your seat b/c you knew something might happen & if they didn't make it, it was a great effort anyway. Does anyone feel that way about this team? I know I certainly don't, only teams with fighters instincts do that and this team doesn't know how to punch.

Omar may not be perfect but he's done a great job and if anyone doesn't think so just think back to how it was under Jim Duquette. As far as Willie goes, I may not be a big fan of his style but that's not the reason the Met's are a bunch of underachievers.
