I completely agree with you. Troy Smith could be everything Michael Vick was supposed to be. He has a cannon arm, hes very accurate, very fast and extremely smart. People like to say hes too short, but he is 6ft which is exactly as tall as Vick. If baltimore doesnt learn how good he is, I sure hope my Browns can get ahold of him when Brady Queen sinks like the titanic, and Derek Anderson wakes up from his dream world. By the way, Troy Smith has a betther arm than Flacco, and he is way more accurate. Hes a better leader, and he didnt pile up stats playing against southern baptist university, and "Our lady of the elms catholic technical institute." Flacco is tall and white, if not for those 2 traits he wouldnt even be in the running and Troy would have this job locked up. Flacco is Chris redmon all over again. Mark my words. When the dust settles Troy will be running that team, or he will be running a team who is smart enough to snag up a weapon like him.

The Ravens clearly don't agree. There's no way in hell they give up as much as they did to nab Flacco like 20 picks above his projected spot and then start the guy they got cheap last year.

I personally hoped Troy Smith would get the start, but with Flacco being drafted Smith's days are numbered in Baltimore before they even began. Smith will probably beat out Kyle Boller, and start day 1. He will perform decent and the team will string together some wins so he will stay as the starter this season. It will be another competition next season but this time Smith will be benched in favor of Flacco and Smith will play his last year on his contract as a back-up to Flacco. But lucky enough for him he will have a season of starting experience behind him and be going into his 4th season when he becomes a restricted free agent. The Ravens will either resign him and trade him or let him go in free agency. Either way he will sign with a team that sees his potential. Maybe a team like the Chiefs if Croyle doesn't work out. Maybe Gruden will want another qb so he can hit 10. All I know is he may be short but he is a playmaker. You don't leave playmakers on the bench forever. He may end up moving positions as well which wouldn't hurt him. But I think Troy Smith is a future probowler. He is the next Mike Vick type talent just a little slower and more of a pure passer. A perfect combo for a team in need.

Kyle Boller should be the starter for the begining of the season, if he washes out then bring in Troy Smith. Troy Smith could come in and pull a Derek Anderson, taking over for a QB and keeping the job from the brand new QB. Troy Smith only won one game against the Steelers that were resting their starters for a playoff run, he lost two other games against teams using their starters.

Yeah I dont see why he doesn't get a fair chance
I mean all he's done is win the Heisman and National Championship game
Height shouldn't be an issue, especially since he can get outside the pocket
And he did look promising late last season

What are you guys talking about he isnt fast believe it or not. Just because he's short people automatically assume hes fast, hes not. He never won a national championship because they got blown out by Florida. I dont think Flaco should start this year until way late, we're not going to be good this year no matter who starts, so let Flaco develop but to say he sucks and smith is good is just stupid. Dont look at Smiths numbers because he had like 3 all american Wrs and a very solid offensive line. And Flaco may have played inferrrior competition at Delaware but so did Troy playing against the horrible big ten. You cannot argue against Flacos physical tools you can argue against Troy's. And Troy believe it or not is not actually accurate.

He had a 4.7 40 time
Thats pretty fast for a QB
And Troy believe it or not is not actually accurate.
He owns the top two spots for Ohio State completion percentage in a season
He also has the highest completion percentage in a career for Ohio State
And Flaco may have played inferrrior competition at Delaware but so did Troy playing against the horrible big ten
Oh sorry, I forgot the National Championship Game was inferior competition, my bad
He never won a national championship because they got blown out by Florida.
And Delaware got blown out by Appalachian State, which is a whole lot better than Florida
Oh and don't forget, he also won the 2006 Davey O'Brien Award, which goes to the Quarterback of the year
Yeah, hes definatly legit
