I say even if we are in it at the all-star break, you STILL have to stick to the plan.  If a team is in need of a closer, and is willing to give 2+ prospects for Sherrill, you gotta do it.  We have Ray on the DL, and even Sarfate or Johnson could fill in.  I would still like to keep Huff.  He has pretty good power.  If the offer for Roberts is too good to be true, you also have to pull the trigger on that one also.

It seems to me that up to this point, MacPhail has made all the right moves to get this team moving in the right direction...We all know what a great baseball mind he has, and I'd be willing to bet that he already has a plan with 2 or 3 backup plans incase something falls through...If we're still competitive at the all-star break, I'd have to agree with many of you that we stick to the plan.  Remember what happened last year when we brought up Olsen and Liz too early?  They got shelled...Giving Olsen some more time in the minors gave him the confidence to come back up and really perform, and I think it will end up having the same effect on Liz and a lot of our other really good prospects ...As far as trades go, I really think the team has developed some great chemistry...they are playing well as a team, so I can't really see any reason to shake things up...Why fix it if it ain't broke?

Great posts. This is what makes it great do be an O's fan. Only if some of you guys were in the front office and could steer Angelos in the right direction 10 years ago.

I can't start a post yet, but I was wondering. ESPN showed some stats in comparison from this year to last year? The 3's are pretty impressive in the drop off. Homeruns are down , ERA's are down. It looks like baseball is turning back into what something similar what it was when my grand father told me stories. Pitchers owned this league?

Do you guys think that MLB has really cleaned up it PED act, or is too early to tell?

He cb,

I was talking about that with a co-worker.  It really seems as though the scoring has come back down to earth and pitching is starting to dominate.  But it is early.  Let's see what happens when the weather warms up as this usually coincides with older players/veterans warming up also.

Hopefully the "new" drug plan will pas through the MLPA and baseball can become the great game it truly is.

Grandfather huh?  Boy I feel old now.

I'm been playing fantasy baseball since 1989, and I can tell you that the hitting points are down without question. Pitching points are way up. Whether we're going to see a greater number of 20 game winners and sub 3.00 ERA's is yet to be seen. The weather may warm up and with it the hitters as well. The Orioles are indicative on what's going on league wide. The bats are sluggish and the pitching better than expected.

I guess time will only tell, but I just find it very interesting I mean Brandon Webb is 9-0, Cliff Lee has been practically unhittable... yes I said Cliff Lee. He was getting shelled a year ago. Oh and lets not forget my early 2008 savior DC has finally "put it together" Man  love baseball. Parody is back!!!!!
