I dont want to steal people's thunder, BC I HAVE TO BELIEVE this was mentioned or noticed this before me, this Power Rankings has the Tampa Bay Rays, who are in first place, 10 places behind the Red Sox, The Red Sox at #1 over Arizona, the Red Sox don't even lead their division! ...and the team with the Best RECORD in baseball, the Florida Marlins, who are a BIGGER suprise than even the Rays, for that matter at 13, while the Rays are at 10. To top it all off, instead of just rambling off the team names, (to save face, maybe, possibly) this idiot also gives- reasons! ? ! MY GOD!
I didnt go to Harvard, but it doesnt take a brain surgeon to figure out these rankings are a complete travesty, and a waste of time for baseball fans, who actually kow about baseball, play fantasy, gamble, , etc... to read.

debo - If you want to know the standings...look at the standings. I may not always agree with the power rankings either, (i.e. I don't think the Red Sox should be #1 either, and I'm a sox fan) but this is one writers opinion on who he thinks the best teams are RIGHT NOW, regardless of the standings. There are a lot of other thinks to consider, such as current team batting averages, team ERA, etc. I really don't think you should get all bent out of shape over these sort of things. Just my opinion.

Come on. These are power rankings. Just like a college sports top 25. If you start at the bottom, you have to slowly work your way up. The Rays have worked their way into the top 10 and, if they keep succeeding, they will move higher.
The Rays aren't going to get their props until they actually proved something. This team has lost 90 games every year of their existence. If they do the rankings by week, then Sportline writers need to put down the crack pipes. Didn't the Rays just sweep the first place Angels, The first place Reds Sox, and are now working on a sweep of the Yankees?
Hey Moron, if the Power rankings were based off of who has what division all you'd have to do is look at the standings. Tired of you uneducated fools posting messages about how you could do a better job. Congrats TB for leading the division in Mid May, by seasons end they will be 3rd maybe 4th in the division.....that is why he idiotically doesn't have them ranked above the Sox. Sorry to crush your dreams
Talk about morons, you and the rest of your Boston homers take the cake. These rankings are a week by week standing. By the end of the year, TB will most likely be down quite a bit. But for now, at this exact time, they have proven they are playing as well, if not better than Boston.
