With all the NCAA regulations that USC might've broken with OJ Mayo, it looks like the top SG in the nation might not go to USC. The California native is a beast and averaged over 30 points and 9 rebounds. Demar Derozan is a 6 foot 5 inch shooting guard that would be awesome to have in the back court with Nolan Smith, Greg Paulus, and Elliot Williams next year. I don't really think that Duke has a shot to get him, but I think they should at least look at him. He has UCLA and Washington as his next top teams to play for, but Florida State is also on his list.

He's not going to Duke, so it doesn't really matter. He's another OJ Mayo type of guy who will bring OJ Mayo type of problems wherever he goes.

Actually djo81491, DeMar DeRozen isn't an OJ Mayo type of guy.  He is a really good kid who happens to be a great basketball player.  I was at the McDonald's All-American game in Milwaukee, and after the game, DeMar went out of his way to stop and sign autographs on the way to the locker room.  He didn't have to do this and many other big-name players did not (Greg Monroe, BJ Mullins, Tyreke Evans).  DeRozen could have gone the wrong way living under the lights of LA, but  with the guidance of his parents, choice the right path and became a quality person. As for what school he would go to if he decided against attending USC, either Arizona State, North Carolina, or UCLA would be his top choices.  Arizona State was in his final three schools while the other two have recently contacted his high school coach about his availability.

As a carolina fan i'd love to have him, but I read somewhere his mom is sick so he will probably stay on the west coast.  Hope he doesn't go to UCLA, they already have a stacked recruiting class.

UCLA might have a good class coming in, but look at what u guys in chapel hill have coming.  Its nothing bad at all if he came unc would easily have the top recruiting class.

This is not meaning to sound harsh in any way, shape or form so please don't take it as such.  Sometimes I am tired of the posts akin to (fill in the blank) might go to Duke now because his original plan didn't work out.  Wouldn't (players name here) fit in well in the Duke program?  Wow, what a backcourt we would have if (player's name here) came to Duke instead of (any other school).  A talent like Derozan would muddle an already cluttered backcourt in Durham.  Let's embrace what we DO have in next years team and enjoy the players we have who make the commitment to college to come back for a return effort.  Freshman are not always the answer.  These days it almost seems more worthwhile to nab a 4 star recruit who may need a couple years to develop so he can use that time to grow at Cameron.  Maybe Czyz will turn into the next greatest thing.  Hopefully Williams will stay 4 years.  Maybe Henderson will have the break out year we know he's capable of.  I don't necessarily want to think about the what ifs in terms of what if we draw a West coast recruit who has no intention whatsoever of looking our direction.  Just my opinion.
