Orioles fans have always been baseball historians. After talking with (via this board) to guys like Jazznbluz and BaltimoreByrds, I thought maybe some of the younger fans (and us older fans too) would like to test their Orioles knowledge. Perhaps we all can learn even more about the glorious past and the great Orioles that made it happen. If you like it, I'll continue it. If not, have fun with this one.
Which MLB teams did Eddie Murray play for?

Good question, although most fans will probably remember besides the Orioles, his years with the Dodgers and Indians.
As an Oriole, I remember seeing Eddie at the local Safeway store in Cockeysville among other places. And while he was with the Indians, I was working @ BWI for the airline next to the Continental Ticket Counter. They had a very long line, and I went over to the Agent in First Class and asked if she could wait on Eddie next because right away I could see he needed to get to Cleveland in a hurry due to a Family Emergency. She obliged.
Yeah, Eddie is definitely one of my all-time favorite Orioles. #33 I was sorry to see him traded to the Dodgers. That was a sad day.

Hi Move,
Great question. Let's do more trivia.
Eddie was my all-time favorite Orioles player. He never charged for his signature, and was always professional (if you don't count when the press would ask him personal questions).
I remember going to opening day 1977, I was impressed with him that day.
My fondest memory of him was when he hit a mammoth home run off Nolan Ryan in the 8th or 9th inning, Anaheim to win a game. I think it was 1977. I was listening to the game on radio, and hearing the great Chuck Thompson describe it I imagined it was the incredible rainbow shot hit to straight away center field.
Amazing statistic: Eddie Murray hit 504 HR's over his 21 career. His highest single year total was 33, done in 1983. He was a model of consistancy.

Great Post. Eddie Murray was my all time favorite. I used to get chills when he would come to bat in the early 80's at Memorial Stadium. I went to a game where he had already knocked two out then came the 7th inning and the crowd started chanting like a whisper at first. eddie eddie eddie eddie until it was absolutely deafening and he jacked his third of the game over right center. It was just awesome.

" I remember going to opening day 1977, I was impressed with him that day. "
I was there, too and remember it well. I was sitting in the obstructed seats alongside 1st base line way in the back. Most Oriole fans followed his Minor League stats before arriving in the Bigs. So when he 1st stepped to the plate most of us gave him a standing ovation. Obviously, he was everything as advertized. Ed-die, Ed-die, Ed-die...that chant practically began immediately in his fine, fine, super-fine career.

Steady Eddie was a great player. Loved to watch him play, when i was young. Quite but did his talking with the bat in his hands. Was at the game when he hit his 500th HR. Great night for O's baseball history.
