So have all you Mariner fans that have said Ibanez is not bad in LF finally going to admit that he's a disaster yet?  I mean come on Even that first drop he had lead to yet another run that never should have happened.  He had a sure enough  double play in the making and he bungles that too.  Let's not forget that Filix had to throw another 13 extra pitches  and cost Felix one inning extra that he could have pitched.  Then throw in the play in which he actually got charged for an arror.  Felix would have at least finished 7 innings, which means that we wouldn't need to see Green come in with runners on yet again.

Please don't try to say that he makes up for his defense at the plate.  Yes he may make up for his bungles at time but not enough.  The thing too many of you all don't seem to understand is that it not only costs the team runs but it also costs the starting pitchers innings that they now have to give up to the bullpen.  Last season it wasn't so bad because the starting pitching wasn't very good and the bullpen was lights out right?  Again the bad plays add up during a long season and even last seasons great bullpen got burnt out.  Every little thing that happens in a season is an individual event, but it's the accumulation of all these events that are dependent on one anther that makes a season what it is.  Yes a win is a win and a loss is a loss, but all those little things that happen in  one game add up to what the season is to be.

The only conclusion that I can draw from all I have seen this season thus far is that it is over.  There are just too many parts to this team that  look bad and not enough good to make up the diffence.  This team is sick and it is time to cut out all the tumors before it spreads to the new and clean parts.

Sorry for being too philosophical.  I guess it beats calling everyone  no good sinkin dirt bags right?

I completely agree Atomic.  Put anyone in left, Willie Bloomquist, Jeremy Reed, Griffey, they'd all be better outfielders.  Also, why haven't they let Clement play first while Sexson has been suspended?  They should give him some time there and move Ibanez to DH.  Actually, i like Ibanez and he's a good guy and everything, but i wouldn't mind if we tried to trade him.  He would have a lot of value to an AL team, and be easier to move than Sexson.

Go M's!!!

I also agree atomic. I would really like him at DH where we have just as bad hitting as Ibanez play in the OF. It seems like a perfect match for him at DH and maybe bring in someone like Jr to play OF.

Are you kidding? That dropped ball in left almost worked out perfect. Did you see that train wreck of a slide my Laird? Not only did he almost gun him down at 2nd but almost put in on the shelf for 6 weeks with a busted hand. It was a great decoy play.

Bravo Raul, Bravo!!

Now that is how you spin a bad play. Credit to myself.

You have some good points.  I don't see why they wouldn't put Willie Bloomquist in RF and let Jeff Clement play 1B at least while Richie Sexson is suspended.  This looks like another case of John McClaren not putting his best foot forward to win a game.  The only explanation I can think of is that we have a supreme lack of speed on the bench for when we might actually need a pinch runner for a Kenji Johjima, Jose Vidro, or a Raul Ibanez.  We would have that speed if we had cut Miguel Cairo instead of Charlton Jimerson.  WTF, anyways?  Why is Cairo so special, he's a freakin' Yankee!  Greg Norton was whipping his butt in all categories.  We have Willie Ballgame, he can play almost any position out there.  Just ask him and I'll bet he would catch(and call) a good game.  He might even have some sweet eephus pitch that could drop a batter to his knees.

If Jose Vidro is a little gimpy, let him gimp it up in AAA and bring in a little speed to weather this storm.  And screw Miguel Cairo, bring in anyone...

Go Mariners!

agree on the trading Ibanez, he is a great guy but Seattle obviously needs to rebuild and he is one of the few guys who is actually attractive in a trade on offense along with Beltre..seeing as Sexson, Johjima and Washburn have zero trade value for anything worth while, doubt you can receive any good prospects for Batista possibly Silva and you cant trade Bedard who you gave up 3 of your top prospects for especially in an obviously rebuilding mode they need to be..cant break up a young nucleus such as Betancourt, Lopez, Balentien, Clement and the young arms we have in the pen...would never happen but has anyone thought of the trade value and what we could receive for Ichiro

Bloomquist???  Be real, there is no way he should be a regular....he is an average utility guy at best and you want to put him in Rightfield?  What team are you guys watching....Balentien is the rightfielder and will be for the next 10 years so I would start accepting that.  Bloomquist is below average as an oufielder and average as an infielder.  What am I missing about Balentien in RF?  Several people have posted he should play left field....why?  He has the best arm on the team, he has good speed to cover the field and the only reason to move a guy to LF is if his arm was weak.....don't see any logical reason to do so.

Why the need to trade Ibanez?  So you can further weaken the batting order?  Come on now, there is a real simple fix called FIRE JOHN MCLAREN!  He has no idea what he is doing....he never puts guys in a position to succeed...he never sticks to a decision...and most importantly he has LOST THE TEAM!

Whoa!!!  My bad, I meant LF(in place of Ibanez.)  And that only till Richie Sexson gets off of his suspension.   Just saying that I would rather see Bloomquist instead of Cairo in the lineup.  Ibanez would be a fine DH and we could get more athletic in LF as a stopgap.  Move Clement to 1B, Raul to DH, and Bloomquist to LF.

Go Mariners.

Husky, I like the idea of finding Jeremy Reed and bringing him up for a few.  Like I said, they need to put their best foot forward, including some guys on the bench.  I hate to say it, but I think we could use someone off the bench that has a better chance to hit and or run if we need it more than Jamie Burke.  We are carrying three catchers, and if the idea was to have Jeff Clement play catcher, 1B, and DH than he can be our back-up catcher when we need one.  If Kenji gets injured during a game tha
