What a great game between the Rays and the Yankees.  Even after having Percival blow a save to the top of the ninth homerun hit by Matsui, the Rays still held on and in the face of Riviera, still manage to gut out a game winning run.  A win that puts them back in first place in the AL East.  A win that gives them the best record in the A.L.

The Marlins are right in there in the N.L., too.

We will still get poo poo'ed by the media, by the fans of every big market team, saying it won't last.  But if you were an owner of the Yankees or the Red Sox right now, would you rather be signing pay checks for either of those teams, or for the $40 million dollar payroll of the Rays?  And frankly, who has the brighter future?

Right now, it just doesn't suck anymore to be a fan of the Rays.

I've been a Rays fan since the team's inaugral year when we had those oooo so colorful D-Rays unis. And i gotta say, this has to be one of the best group of guys this team has ever had together. I think the teams attitude is the best its ever been and im looking forward to a great year where the Rays will hopefully end at the top of the division, but who's to say, the Rays only have to hold onto the AL East division for another 122 games....lol

Hopefully Shields keeps it up and Kazmir gets in his groove.
