USC in hot water over Mayo? Not Likely

USC in hot water over Reggie Bush? Not Likely

What does this school have to do to be sanctioned????

No news here---the NCAA is a complete joke.

I see your point about the NCAA sanctions being not in line with what may be required by the violation.

I would point to the line of thought that the violations should not be limited to just the SC basketball program, but their more coveted programs, i.e. the football program.  I believe if the NCAA were to consider imposing sanctions against these other programs, SC and other universities in its position would be very careful about having the appropriate "institutional controls" in order that there more coveted programs are unaffected.

Let's face the fact that SC probably didn't care since from a cost/benefit standpoint they had little to lose since their more coveted programs will likely not be impacted.

Cubby, Why would the NCAA sanction SC when they, along with the PAC-10 reviewed and approved Mayo's amatuer status?  Why should the school or schools be sanctioned, and not  the agents and deceitful players? It's not the schools,(and I say schools (plural) because I don't think this is only case we'll see) that are the problem.  The problem is the lack of ethics in the recruits these days. At a minimum, Guilliroy and OJ committed fraud.  They both knew going in that he was only going to stay a year.  SC should sue the crap out both of them.  Mayo should at least pay back the scholarship money.
