John Van Benschoten was sent down after the game yesterday. His replacement will be named today. I think this is a good move. He needs to pitch more often and he needs to start for now. He is 28 now....when will he no longer be a prospect and become a bust?
According to the PG, they think his replacement will Jesse Chavez. He would have to be put on the 40 man roster. That is ok because we still have 2 openings. He is a 24 yr old righty with 1.61 ERA and 23 SO and 10 hits in 22.1 innings. More importantly, he only has 5 walks.
I am sure EMJ could tell us more about him....
Lets see how this thing shakes out.
